Title: Does anyone play a musical instrument?

UnicornFire - April 19, 2011 02:35 AM (GMT)
I don't think a topic like this has been created yet. :ema:

Does anyone here play an instrument? I myself am a beginning violin student, and I've been playing chimes since I was 5. :pearl:

BuddyFaith - April 19, 2011 02:37 AM (GMT)

Been playin the Cello for about 7 years now.

Oh my. :kirio: That's quite a long time. You must be quite good.

MrGiggles - April 19, 2011 02:41 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I'm pretty good. Don't practice as much as I would like though. Theatre has pretty much taken over my life.

Grand_Prosecuter - April 19, 2011 02:55 AM (GMT)
I played Cello for 4 years and Clarinet for 2 I actually wanted to play Bass Clarinet at first though

violaine - April 19, 2011 03:15 AM (GMT)
i've played piano for eight years and do not practice and am awful at it and have played violin for 6-ish years and also do not practice and am okay at it.

i cannot play two parts of a song at once, dammit!

TKHawaiianAZN - April 19, 2011 04:32 AM (GMT)
I've been playing the ukulele for 5 years ^_^
I also recently learned While My Guitar Gently Weeps (ukulele style), it's a really fun song to play! :miles:

Chips n' Cookies - April 19, 2011 04:44 AM (GMT)
I play a recorder when was 8, and that's about it.

Indochine Ramera - April 19, 2011 07:00 AM (GMT)
I've been playing Piano for 12 years. But this will be my last year, because I won't be able to practice a lot next year! :butz:

FranziskaVonKarmaWhippedYou - April 19, 2011 07:13 AM (GMT)
I played a recorder for a year, I've played piano for some time, I don't think a year yet. But I suck at piano. I've also been playing a baritone horn over the last few months.

Marche - April 19, 2011 07:17 AM (GMT)
I started playing the piano at the age of 9 but dropped it due to lack of motivation when I was 13. In 8th grade, I started playing the bass which I still do.

Jasper - April 19, 2011 09:28 AM (GMT)
Piano six years, flute three years. Still trying to learn Megaman Dr. Wily's Theme on piano. My hands just can't stretch an octave... :'(

pokedexter - April 19, 2011 09:42 AM (GMT)
Violin for 6 years. But it ain't good.

Does beatbox count? :larry: :larry:

Neni - April 19, 2011 10:01 AM (GMT)
I can strum the guitar, but not pick it. And I'm not even too good with strumming. ^^;

I also used to play the recorder, but I gave that one up long ago.

polkadooty - April 19, 2011 10:39 AM (GMT)
OMATONE FTW!

Ropfa - April 19, 2011 11:01 AM (GMT)
I used to play the euphonium, but I've long since forgotten how.

Noa - April 19, 2011 12:17 PM (GMT)

Flute, definitely.

Triplemathics - April 19, 2011 02:56 PM (GMT)
Took piano lessons for two and a half years before I quit. Too expensive and thought I might as well teach myself instead. Been playing for about 4 years in total now.

Still not that good at it, unfortunately...

Jack Lamber - April 19, 2011 03:11 PM (GMT)
A little guitar and piano.. but I can't multitask with both vocals and guitar/piano, so I haven't played any of them for a while.
..would love to learn the ukulele actually :gymshoe:

shitaki - April 19, 2011 03:32 PM (GMT)
I play some guitar and piano, and I use to play trumpet in high school lol

VelleVette - April 19, 2011 04:23 PM (GMT)
I play piano. I started when I was a kid, but stopped after a couple of years. A year ago I started taking lessons again, mostly because I wanted to learn how to play River Flows in You.

FranziskaVonKarmaWhippedYou - April 19, 2011 05:30 PM (GMT)
I only touched my piano this year because of our school Talent Show. Recently, I've been teaching myself Detention Center ~ Elegy of the Detained. a.k.a the detention center theme in T&T.

VelleVette - April 19, 2011 06:12 PM (GMT)
Nice! I've learnt Bitter Taste of Truth, Steel Samurai Reminiscence, and am currently trying to master DL-6.

UnicornFire - April 19, 2011 07:41 PM (GMT)
The only interesting songs I can play on my violin so far are Dango Daikazoku and Epona's Song. :butz:

I guess it's to be expected, since I've only been playing since around November of last year. :gumshoe:

ProsecutorPressley - April 19, 2011 08:20 PM (GMT)
I've played piano for... 5 or 6 years now. I'm trying my best to play "I'm still here" from John Rzeznik... lots of octaves.
I'm not great at it, but I love doing it. I just wish I would have more time to practice.

dl-6 is pretty easy to learn, have fun with that.

it's the only piece i've been able to memorize besides some tune out of a child's level 3 workbook.

MrGiggles - April 19, 2011 10:36 PM (GMT)
I'm trying to find sheet music to some video game songs for cello, but am having a hard time. I've seen pics, but that friend is gone now and I can't search for crap. :gumshoe:

BlackCoffeeX1 - April 20, 2011 01:30 AM (GMT)
I took piano lessons from age 5-13. I can still play at about the same level (probably better) now. I'm still not that great though. I can play Fur Elise (with a little struggling in the second movement) and 3 out of the 4 pages of the piano solo version of To Zanarkand. I think I could be pretty good if I actually practiced consistently. I've also been playing mallet percussion since high school. Still playing it now.

filipinoamerican - April 20, 2011 07:47 AM (GMT)
I've been playing guitar for about 8-10 months now. Taught myself with a book. Played recorder last year, and playing either the clarinet or the violin next year.

FranziskaVonKarmaWhippedYou - April 20, 2011 08:54 AM (GMT)
I'm part of the school brass band, and the funny thing is, a majority of the girls play the baritone horn (including me) and all the boys play the cornet/trumpet. I can play Ode To Joy on my horn.

Regiwi - April 20, 2011 09:18 AM (GMT)
Got up to Grade 2 Jazz piano, would of done Grade 3 but I was stupid and lost interest... :sweatdrop: I couldn't read music really either, so I mostly played by ear which is a bad thing...

Zinle-Reborn - April 20, 2011 11:38 AM (GMT)
Meh...
I got a guitar, Valencia to be exact, but I don't really know how to play it.
I got on christmas at least five-seven years ago when my parents noticed that I have some short of music ear.
But, however, I've never learned to play it to this date.
There has been some improvement though.
Now I've finally realized to use my left hand too so I won't be limited with five sounds only...
...Yes...Pathetic...Five years to notice that one...
Meh...So sue me. At least I could play the bass part of Nears theme with it...
...What you mean it's only three notes...?

Anyway...I would have wanted a piano, since I think that's more easier to play.
...And I like the sound of it too.
Infact, when it comes to music maker programs, the keyboard is the only thing I actuallu CAN paly.
I what buttons to press when playing Dearly Beloved, Lugias song, one of my own tracks and Rikus theme piano part.
...That said; I'm curious would I know how to play with ACTUAL piano.
It just doesn't feel that hard.
And once I began to talk about it, I have been thinking of getting a synthesizer or keyboard instrument.

About the notes and stuff...I can't understand them at all.
...I mean...I know that some dots are higher and lower than the others, meaning that...Well...
Well I cant' really tell what I mean, since I don't know how,
but let's make it this way;
If you would play kingdom Hearts's Dearly Beloved with a keyboard it'd go like: i, t, r, o, i, t, r, o, 0, o, ^, å, 0, o, i, 7, i, t, r, o, i, t, r, o, 0, o, ^, å, 0, o, i, ^
Unless I'm greatly mistaken.

So yeah...I don't really play anything, but I'd love to have something likea a piano.

OMG! For 9 years now. :o

FranziskasWhip - April 20, 2011 09:06 PM (GMT)
Am I the only person that plays viola? I'll have been playing for three years this September. As a matter of fact I have to audition with it tomorrow for one of the best schools in this county. Dx

I also used to play guitar, but I quit after a while because I didn't really enjoy playing it.

Blue Spruce - April 20, 2011 09:58 PM (GMT)
Piano and percussion.

Objection9000 - April 21, 2011 08:57 AM (GMT)

And I've been playing the recorder since I was , about, 6.

SuperAj3 - April 21, 2011 09:19 AM (GMT)
