Title: Fan Made Cases? Do they exist/how do I play them?
Description: I'm new to the site :P

Hello everyone!

Just registered to the site, though I have been here before. Figured I should sign up, as I just heard about the video saying AAI2 won't be localized. Here's hoping it's a "lie" and some news will come at Captivate 2011.

Anyways, I was wondering if there are fan made cases (I have heard of tools like PWLib and such), and if so, where would I go to play them?

Thanks!

There are tons using flash, PWLib, PW CaseMaker by MechaBowser, PyWright, and other programs. If you want to find some, there are links on The Court Records Case Makers page that lead to how to make the cases and some existing ones. Also, not to be rude, but google it. It really helps.
Theres also Ace Attorney Online: Here
It's a case maker on the web browser, no download!

Hi! :)

You'll find that at the moment, there are only two major case engines in circulation. The third, PWLib, has been officially put on hiatus due to a lack of interest (according to the creator) from the community. Those two engines are...
  • PyWright: A powerful case engine developed with Python. It has an easy-to-use scripting language called "Wrightscript" and is the engine that the two "legendary games" that were made on.
  • Ace Attorney Online: A powerful web case engine using javascript. It takes cloud computing to the next level, and has features and capabilities coming close to rivalling PyWright. It is currently home to the largest fangaming community and has undergone much changes since the screenshot posted on the main C-R website.

In regards to fangames, there are quite a few complete ones you can play! I'll try to list as many as possible along with their engines for you.
  • [PWlib] Damion Shard - Ace Attorney: Turnabout Taco:
  • [PyWright] Apollo Justice - Case 5: Turnabout Substitution
  • [PyWright] PW - Contempt of Court: Turnabout Scapegoat
  • [AAO] Featured trials: Most of them are absolutely brilliant pieces of work. Some of them are old and have 2008/9 trial conventions, but hopefully in the future, these will be removed. :)
  • [AAO] Non-featured trials: There are many, many trials that have yet to be featured, but have also joined the "elites". These include Turnabout Bloodlines (Zeel1), Glase Canon (BBblader), Justice's Memoirs (my own series), Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney (ShadowEdgeworth), Turnabout Generations (Huddini) and many, many more.

Hope that gets you started! :D
