Has anyone ever made a parasol? Buying them is all well and good, but I have such evil ideas of what they could look like! It would be nice to be able to make them.

Not me, although I've entertained the idea on several occassions.

From scratch? No. I suppose it would be possible, but...wow, sounds like a lot of work. There do seem to be a couple of sites on it, though. But I can't vouch for how good they are
eHow
Parasol Making

I have considered modifying umbrellas into parasols, though. Doing my own designs on the cloth or paper, for example.
