Which movie or show has your *FAVORITE* costume designs? Why? Who was the designer (if you know)?
I'll start! My favorite movie for costumes is Underworld. All those bbbeeeaaauuuutttiiiiffuuulll corsets! And Selene's trench? Mrrrow! The costume designer was: Wendy Partridge
Second favorite is Star Wars: Episode 1, especially for Queen Amidalas (sp) costumes. The costume designer was: Trisha Biggar

I may not know the designer of the costumes but i like the designs of the lord of the rings costumes. They look really great and Arwen mourning dress is pretty :D

I find that people rarely know who the costumer designers are unless they win an academy award. Costume designers are a part of that big hollywood machine that work hard brining us great films but still go virtually unrecognized.
A few films spring to mind:
- Godzilla & Other kaiju films (monster suits for the win!)
- labyrinth
- Big Fish
- Moulin Rouge
- Star Wars: A New Hope
- Auntie Mame (costumes of the title character)
- Pumpkinhead (the Pumpkinhead suit)

I love Gone with the wind and Marie-Antoinette, but that's because I love historical costume. I should soon start to make some, but I want to wait a bit so I'll get more free time to document my costume the right way.

Ah, I have a few favorites:
300 (though there isn't much to them)
Lord of the Rings - Specifically Dernhelm's armor
Phantom of the Opera - La Carlotta's Hanible dress
those are the only 3 I can think of right now ^_^()
When I was at SanDiego ComicCon I dragged my fiance to a costumer's guild panel. It was rather interesting, the first part of the 2 hour panel was for the designers, the second part for the people that help create the panels. We weren't allowed to take photos at either panel T__T but the one that I can really only remember what she did was the woman who did costumes for Dr. Horrible

Sleepy Hollow - The white and back stripped gown :)
