Though as we all know, an avatar is possibly the most important thing you get out of registering anywhere. Well, apart from not having to type your name each time you post... and then there is that thing where you can PM people, and access all of the board's special features... hmm. Perhaps you should register?

^ So did I! Did you ever see the theories page on the main site? Because I always loved the theory that there was some connection between them... and even though there wasn't, they obviously got along pretty well, so I guess it wasn't entirely out there?
I don't know that I'd say Luna is totally comic relief, though... I mean, she's kind of like Neville, really, isn't she? Neville and Luna are both kind of tragic characters in a lot of ways, but they're also both really sort of... um... positive? Idealistic? Plus, yeah, funny as hell a lot of the time (it's a clever ruse!) Which is what I like about them, I guess, you know - that even though they've had a lot of things happen to them that they could be bitter about, they just... aren't. (...and now I really wish Jo had gotten them together. Oh well.) So in conclusion... I forgot what I was trying to say. Shoot.
Oh, and I hear you on Luna's room... gah, Jo is such a cruel woman and I can't help but love her for it. (Like when she killed Fred? At the same time as I was sobbing hysterically, I was also kind of thinking, "Wow, this lady is cool.") It was like Luna's entire house was designed to make you go, "Awww, isn't she the cutest? Seriously, isn't she just the cutest thing ever to wiz there was?" so that Harry could swoop in and make you think she was dead :|

Yeah, JKR's like that, isn't she? I remember reading it in my dorm room and would randomly burst out laughing (like when Harry had to put the Snitch in his moutth instead of his hand) and then my roommate would give me her "Amaroq's gone crazy again..." and I would tell her it was just Rowling being a genius, and she would nod in a superior way and go back to reading her copy. Good times, good times.
Also completely random, but did anyone else want to slap Harry during that scene with Lupin, when he wanted to come with them? Lupin was wrong, I admit, but there were other wise of going about it, Harry. I was having a CAPS LOCK! days flashblack...
Hey, I just realized I have a funny name for each book...

Well, yeah, obviously I love Neville/Luna, too ;D WORST KEPT SECRET EVAR.
Oh, and you don't sound stupid, I'm just being an idiot - I was talking about a comment Jo's made around twice (I think? She mentioned it in the Today Show stuff, but we never got a transcript) about feeling a pull between Neville and Luna in DH. Of a 'shippy nature. Really! Here's the quote:

I know this is late!
OMG! I was really mad at Harry during that scene! I was like ''Harry you don't have to be that mean! He just wanted to help!" So yeah, I was mad. *nods* And also I totally think that Luna and Ollivander should have been related in some way. They were so much alike! He could have been her great uncle or something. Totally!

I bet he found her enjoyable after all that solitude. I just imagine them sitting in Malfoy Manner, chatting about random things... Yeah, though, after I calmed down I was like, "No. she'll be okay. She won't die 'cause she's a comic relief character. She can handle whatever the evil people are doing to her." I nearly cried when they were describing her room though.
