After I read this, the word "jackass" came to mind:

Sorry bud, I am a young adult near my 20s and have spent much time contemplating this. The way I see it is we are supposed to be equal with everyone yet only specific groups are "rude" if they don't give up a seat or hold a door.
Why has this archaic belief not been forgotten?
If we no longer require these groups to be submissive to anyone why should we regard privileging them to be anything special?
Additionally, while I am an Atheist I understand the cultural dynamics of religion and even I am willing to admit that the absence of a commonly accepted moral code leaves right and wrong completely relative.
As a product of being raised in the 90s I would like to just let you know that my generation has a new belief: be polite and do favors only after someone has done it for you but respect Karma both ways meaning if someone bites you, you owe it to the world to bite back equally as hard. Welcome to the world your generation made.
