Diversity of Beliefs Among Madonna Haters, - at this board

Among the long-time discussion board members here who are Madonna haters, there is a diversity of beliefs on several subjects.

POLITICS

We have Madonna haters who are Democrats, Republicans, conservatives, and we had one liberal at one time.

Some members support the George W. Bush administration (but not on every single point), while other members do not support the George W. Bush administration at all.

Some Madonna haters at this board seem to be apolitical (they do not have any political affiliation, or are not interested in politics).

RELIGION

Among the Madonna haters here you will find those who practice, who were raised in, or who believe in...

Paganism, Gnosticism, Wicca, Roman Catholicism, traditional Judeo- Christian beliefs.

Some Madonna haters at the board don't seem to adhere to any sort of religion, or at least have not expressed an interest in the matter.

DEATH PENALTY

Some Madonna haters support the death penalty while others do not.

ABORTION

Some Madonna haters at the board support abortion in limited cases (such as pregnancy as a result of rape, or to save the mother's life).

There are other Madonna haters who do not support abortion for any reason, or with the lone exception of the woman's health being endangered if the pregnancy is carried to term.

Some Madonna haters at this discussion board believe that life begins at conception while others believe that life begins after the brain develops, or at other, later stages.

Regarding abortion, there is one point which all the long- time Madonna haters at the board agree upon:

None of us believe that abortion should be used as a sort of birth control.

We have problems with women who get multiple abortions; they are viewed by some members as being irresponsible, selfish, lazy, and/or ignorant.

AGES

There are currently 20-somethings, 30-somethings, 40-somethings and on up posting on the board.

If you are a Madonna hater and don't see your view expressed above, feel free to drop me a personal message, and I'll add it.

Or, if you believe something I wrote above wasn't accurate it, let me know, and I'll correct it.

I do not know if the link atop the board to this thread will remain, or if I'll remove it after a few weeks / months.

I think the point Flea is trying to make with this post is that we cannot be boxed into a stereotype as people (usually Madonna fans) like to assume. Of course, if I am wrong in assuming that is the reasoning behind starting this thread, Flea can be free to correct me on it.

I know I'm definitely not a big fan of organized religion or politics, and I'm sure there's other Madonna haters on this board who feel much the same.

We all come from different backgrounds, different educations and different beliefs -- the one thing we have in common is that we all dislike/loathe Madonna to some degree. Quite a few of us either speak English as a second language (or third, or fourth, or... you get the idea) while other Anglophiles by birth may also be able to communicate in languages other than English.

There is no litmus test that proves whether or not you are a Madonna hater. You can enjoy the music but hate her attitude and vice-versa. The only criteria is that you dislike or hate something about her. That's all you need to get along here. Or, if you are a Madonna fan, staying in the Cranky Fans forum is fine.

Of course, you also need to follow the board rules and common netiquette. But that's a given, right?
