I guess we can use this thread to place stories about her looking like an old bag, ones about her scary veiny hands, that sort of thing.

This seems familiar to another story one of us linked to before; sorry if it's the identical thing.

Madonna can't hold back the hands of time

At the age of 47, she has never been in better shape and has a body any twentysomething would be proud of. [Note by Flea: that's debatable...]

But anyone keen to find some evidence of the ravages of time on Madonna need look no further than her hands.

Pictured playing guitar at a music festival in California, the mother of two's left hand appeared remarkably bony, wrinkled and covered in protruding veins.

Unlike the rest of her highlytoned body, it would not have looked out of place on any ordinary woman approaching life's half-century.

Plastic surgeon Alex Karidis said the hands were one of the parts of the body which betray a person's age.

"Babies have podgy hands," he said. "The skin and fat on the back of the hands is quite thick.

"As a person ages, that plumpness goes, making the hand look bonier and more veiny.

"Over time, since the hands are more exposed to the elements, they become weathered, wrinkly, less elastic and suffer from sunspots more than other parts of the body.

Hands betrayed her age

"So, in that sense, the hands betray one's true age."

Mr Karidis added that oldlooking hands could be treated.

"We can use creams which lighten the skin," he said. "And we can improve their veiny, bony appearance by plumping them up with fillers which hydrate them.

"In more extreme situations, a person can have one or two of the more prominent veins removed."

None of which sounds all that appealing - particularly to a woman who has always favoured the more natural ways of staying young-looking.

Ugh - being toned is nice and all, but she just looks gross.

The reason her hands look like that is cos she has NO bodyfat whatsoever. Her arms and hands are really really manly. I've seen men her age and older with better-looking hands.

its very true ,

thats the price of wearing those provacative , tanks, sleeveless shirts, tubetops , innerwear as a fashion ,etc. everytime, most of the time .most photos show her that way .
did her wardrobe contain anything else , now she endorses her back too , which will also be on the verge of wrinkling/sunspotting .
a mode to always expose her bust ( while bending forward ) for attracting herself to the public , as a weapon .

now thats getting old for her too and shes removing her pants instead and spreads her legs to expose her groin , it wont be long for her legs to wrinkle to ?

did she ever wear long sleeve often enough . except in the winter .

oh yeah she finally has , to hide her wrinkling arms in the recent horse photos ?

This has got to be one of the worst pics of her ever. Those arms and hands, man, they look sickening.

I think the magazine was trying to focus on some writing on Grandma-donna's hand, but all they succeeded in doing is calling attention to the wrinkly, pruney Granny hands

Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I don't recall the media writing articles about (or showing photos drawing attention to) Madonna's Grandpa hands until I started commenting on it here at the anti-Manny board a long while back?

Maybe they did and I just never noticed.

It has often been said that a woman's hands are the best indicator of her age. So more and more women are having 'hand rejuvenation' procedures, say surgeons.

These can include injecting the hands with fat sucked from a different part of the body, or removing prominent veins.

Simon Withey, a consultant plastic surgeon, said: "While many people have cosmetic surgery to make their face look younger, their hands still may reveal their age.

"Now an increasing number of women are turning to surgical procedures to improve the elasticity and appearance of the skin on their hands."

Last month Madonna exposed her ageing hands while playing the guitar at a music festival in California.

The ageing process and exposure to sunlight and chemicals all cause thinning and drying of hand skin, as well as brown spots, wrinkles and prominent veins.

This is especially true for older women because of a drop in oestrogen levels caused by the menopause.

Women are increasingly undergoing procedures such as lipostructure - where fat is injected to 'plump up' the hands - and chemical peels. In extreme cases, some are paying for operations to have prominent veins removed.

Fat injection procedures cost about £3,000 and take up to three hours for both hand

I recall seeing a picture of her in the early nineties, when she was about 35 or 36 years old. It was a photo of her talking to Kate Moss. Madonna is sitting down and kind of leaning back with her right hand, which looked very wrinkled for someone so young. She was a hag even then!

HAS Madonna been pumping too much iron? Her hands look more like a bodybuilder's than those of a pop diva. The 47-year-old's veins were clearly bulging as she clutched a bottle of water on a stroll in New York.

Now, as she prepares for the Euro leg of her Confession tour, it's feared she's taking her fitness regime too far.

She spends two to three hours daily practising yoga and pilates, swimming, weight training and cycling but friends say she looks skinny and exhausted.

I did leave a message on their site (however, all entries are previewed; mine may not be published on their site at all, or it may be edited).

I should explain that some of the other people on that page left comments saying things such as, "Who cares if Madonna has wrinkly hands?" etc. Here was my reply:

As someone who is sick and tired of the two- plus- decades of the liberal, feminist college professors and the majority of the media lavishing undeserved praise upon this no-talent, unoriginal, egotistical, skanky trollop, I for one care.

It seems to be obligatory among most journalists these days when writing of Madonna to say how "great" and "youthful" she looks for her age.

Such reviewers must need glasses. Not only do Madonna's hands look like those of a granny woman age 90+, but her physique is far too mannish.

You can't have your cake and eat it too:
tell us she looks beautiful and is in great shape for a woman age 47 (or 48), and then get upset when some of us point out she looks 47,000,000 -and not 47- and that we even show the photos to prove it.

No matter how hard she works out, Madonna's wrinkly, veiny hands will always betray her true age.

But as she nears her 48th birthday next month, the singer has evidently decided the time has come to employ a little computer wizardry to help out in that department.

Smiling into the camera lens as part of her [Madonna's] latest modelling assignment, the singer reveals a miraculous new set of younger hands.

With a flawless sheen and healthy, plumped-up look, they could well belong to a woman less than half Madonna's age.

And that, according to one airbrushing expert, is because they actually do.

Michelle Facey, from the David Martin photography studio in Liverpool, suggests that the star's own hands have been replaced with those belonging to another, far younger, model.

"I am shocked by what I am seeing," she said. "Quite simply, these are someone else's hands. Madonna has always had quite veiny hands but there is not a line, wrinkle or vein in sight.

"While it is possible that they have been totally digitally re-touched - her natural skin colour being built up to effectively smooth down the veins - it is more likely that they actually belong to a woman in her twenties.

"If you look at the size of her fingers on the right hand compared to that of her thumb on the left, they are not on the same scale. Her right hand consists of huge, sausage-like fingers, far bigger than its usual size, and is totally out of proportion with the other.

"Alternatively, Madonna could have had hand fillers injected into the skin of her hands to give them a plumper, more youthful, appearance.

"But with ever-advanced digital technology, almost anything is possible nowadays, and anyone or any body part, can be made to look younger."

Drowned Madonna has this clipping from a magazine, where apparently there was some kind of poll, showing a close-up of one of Madonna's hands.

I am guessing the survey asked readers something such as, "If you had to guess the age of the person these hands belong to, what would it be?"

I went to the hair salon today and skimmed through a few celebrity magazines. This was in one of them (but it was an American magazine, not a French one).

You can't tell from the scanned magazine image here, but Madonna's right hand (on our left), looks very pruney, odd, and lumpy. It's more clear in the printed copy (hard copy) of the photo.
