I was watching Smallville tonight, and the guy who used to play "Spike" on Angel and Buffy was on Smalllville, except he has brown hair and sounds American, not British. It just weirded me out seeing him on this show for some reason.

I will probably mess up the spelling of the names in this post. I have the t.v. on in the background right now to keep me company as I'm on the web.

Kojak (Telly Savalas) and Klinger (Jamie Farr) are both in a movie based upon the Gospel of John.

Jamie Farr is playing one of the Apostles. I keep expecting him to ask Jesus to give him a "section 8." laugh.gif

EDIT. Same movie is on again, they're at a different point in the story. Now I see that Roddy McDowell is in the movie and he too is one of the Apostles!! (He's playing Matthew, the tax collector).

How freaky is that?! I remember him when he played a chimpanzee (Cornelius) in Planet Of The Apes, starting back in the late 1960s.

In the 1980s, he was in a teen horror flick called Fright Night.

Just looked it up. The movie is the Greatest Story Ever Told, released in 1965.

Looking up the full cast and crew, I'm shocked at who is not in it. Looks like everyone and their brother had a part in this movie.

Angela Lansbury is in it, as well as Charlton Heston (which isn't weird, I'd expect him to be in a biblical type film), Pat Boone, Carroll Baker, Sidney Poitier, Shelley Winters, Martin Landau, Robert Blake, Sal Mineo...

The actor who plays Jesus in this movie (Max von Sydow), here are other roles he's played

Wait, first: Just saw this... he played the priest in the Exorcist?!?!? - WEIRD!!!
    - Judge Dredd (1995) .... Chief Justice Fargo

    - "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles", - Vienna, November 1908 (1993) TV Episode .... Sigmund Freud

    -Dune (1984) .... Dr. Kynes

    - Conan the Barbarian (1982) .... King Osric

    - Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977) .... Father Merrin

    - The Exorcist (1973) .... Father Lankester Merrin

    - Citizen X (1995) (TV) .... Dr. Alexandr Bukhanovsky

-Dreamscape (1984) .... Doctor Paul Novotny

    - Truck Stop (1996)

    - Minority Report (2002) .... Pre-Crime Director Lamar Burgess

This is weird. There's this actor on some ABC show I'm watching right now (I don't know what it is), and I don't think I've seen him since he played the dad ("James") in the old 1970s show Good Times. Where the heck has he been for the past 25+ years?

Well, come to think of it, I may have seen him on some other show a few years back, but still, he doesn't get around much.

Linda Blair was a guest star on tonight's episode of Supernatural.

It weired me out a little - seeing her play a normal person - because I will always remember Linda Blair as the little green girl who puked on priests (I even saw the Exorcist last week on cable).

Lucy Davis was in Shaun of the Dead and Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties.

I think she might be the same actress that appears in "Orbit" gum commercials. I just looked it up; I guess not. The actress in the Orbit commercials is Vanessa Branch.

Vincent D'Onofrio is in the comedy Stuart Saves His Family, with "Stuart" being played by Al Franken.

I know Vincent D'Onofrio had a bit part as the bug alien guy in MIB, but I'm not used to seeing him in comedy films.

In this one, they've made him up so that he looks kind of like Earl from the TV show My Name is Earl. He has the big mustache and everything.

Tom Cruise in one of the Austin Powers movies. Both unexpected and strange.

Tom Petty in the 1997 Kevin Costner movie The Postman

EDIT -

The actress who played Alice the maid on The Brady Bunch played a secretary in some Doris Day movie; I think it was A Touch of Mink.

It was very strange seeing "Alice" in regular clothes and not the blue uniform with the white apron. She also looked a bit younger.

"Jo" from Facts of Life is playing a Mom and wife on tonight's Cold Case.

The actress who played "Trinity" in the Matrix movies played the Mom in the movie Disturbia. I didn't recognize her at first, because her hair was longer, and she looked somewhat frumpy in the role.

The blonde who played Xena's side kick on Xena: Warrior Princess was on tonight's episode of Criminal Minds.

The last time I saw her was in a cheesy Sci Fi channel movie with Bruce Campbell a few years ago.

Does anyone remember the actress who played "Jo" on The Facts Of Life?

One site says her name is Nancy McKeon and that she was born in 1966.

I'm watching late night TV right now (not really watching, it's just on to keep me company as I work on web pages and stuff), and she's playing a character in a movie called Obsession.

She looks much older here.

Which I don't say as an insult; it's just strange to see her with lines on her face and so on, because I haven't really seen her on TV too much since The Facts Of Life, when she played a teen-aged Jo.

I did see her on some other show about 2 - 5 years ago, and she didn't have as many lines in her face then.

But basically, it's like, you go from seeing her on a 1970s TV sit com to seeing her in the 2008 made-for-TV movie, from young teen / 20 something to being 40-ish, and it's startling and strange seeing the changes.

Also... in this movie that's on right now, she's not speaking with that weird New York-ish, nasal drone like she used to do as "Jo" on The Facts Of Life.

One online source says that The Facts Of Life show lasted up until 1988!

I can't believe that.

Yeah, I was around back then, and I watched The Facts Of Life quite a bit, but I don't remember it lasting that long.

I always thought of it as a late 1970s into the very early 1980s time frame.

Very, very strange - this movie I'm watching her in ("Obsession") is not mentioned in her IMDB page. wth.gif

She had brother who replaced the actor on "Alice".
He played Alice's son a replacemnet of the first actor. Remember Mel's diner or the movie
"Alice doesn't live here anymore" It's a serial from the spin-off of that movie.

I never really watched facts of life.
I also thought of Elizabeth Montgomery the same way from Bewitched,
then I saw this movie of her when she was very old with lines on her face too. Very Shocking.

I'm watching Sesame Street (don't ask why), and so far, I've seen the white cop from Law and Order SVU talking about mail and Ben Stein dressed up like a big wedge of cheese. Weird.

Weirdness:
Willem Dafoe was in the movie Mr. Bean's Holiday. (I saw the last third of this movie yesterday.)

He played a sort of bad guy in it, but still - Willem Dafoe in a Mr. Bean movie??

I didn't notice this until a few weeks ago, but Summer Glau (Glau - whatever) plays the girl terminator in the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV series.

Strange to me because I associate her with her role as River on Firefly.

Stranger than that though is what's-his-face from 90210 plays a sidekick on Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I think his name in real life is 'Sean Austin Green' or something like that.

I never thought he was the least bit attractive on 90210 - he seemed a bit on the dweeby dorky side, but as a 30-something (or late 20s), he's somewhat attractive on this show.

It certainly helps that he's not playing a teen on a stupid teen drama show, of course.

My viewing habits have changed a little since I've left Texas.

I've been watching a lot of Nick, especially their tween/teen programming.

There never seems to be anything else on, not anything that I can stomach.

I'm burned out on politics (and many of the networks are covering Obama / McCain / Palin non-stop), and I don't like watching semi-nude 20-somethings act like raunchy morons on reality TV shows, and everything else seems to be sports.

So I'm kinda limited on shows to watch, which brings me to this:

I've been watching a lot of iCarly.

I'm not even sure I like the show, I just leave the channel on Nick, and it's on all day (when they're not airing SpongeBob or Drake and Josh, other shows I've seen a lot of.)

The principal on iCarly is the same actor who played the Vulcan security officer on Star Trek Voyager, Tuvak or however his name is spelled.

It's very strange seeing Tuvak wearing sweaters and talking -talking normally (no monotone devoid of emotion)- and sitting in an office.

Just a couple of weeks ago I wrote this:

Today, I was channel surfing and came across the show Samantha Who? starring Christina Applegate. The same actor who played "Tuvak" on the Star Trek show who also was on iCarly is on tonight's episode of Samantha Who?.

This is the the first time I've ever seen this show, so I don't know if this is a one time guest appearance or if his character is a regular, recurring one.

But it's weird that just a couple of weeks after seeing him on iCarly that I spot him on Samantha Who? (and Samantha Who? is a show I don't watch).

I saw a headline on the web that Eddie Murphy is supposed to play the Riddler in the next Bat Man movie. IMO, that is weird. I can't see him as the Riddler.

Eddie Murphy as the Riddler? Rumor Fly Over 'Batman 3'

Eddie Murphy as the Riddler? What?

But then, these guys say, no, it's not true-
Eddie Murphy not been cast in new Batman movie
Eddie Murphy has not been cast in the new Batman movie.

It was rumoured the star was set to portray villain The Riddler in the follow-up to The Dark Knight, but studio bosses insist they haven’t even developed a storyline yet.

Warner Bros. President Alan Horn says casting is yet to begin, while Christopher Nolan hasn’t decided if he will direct his third film in the comic book franchise.

I'm watching a cartoon on the Cartoon Network (I think it's called "The Secret Saturdays"), and one of the female voices sounds exactly like the blond lady who used to appear on "MADD TV," and she also played a dog-walker on the TV show The King of Queens.

I wonder if it's her? (I'm too lazy to google for it right now.)

If it's her, that's strange.

I also found it weird that Mark Hamill (of Luke Skywalker fame) did the voice of the Joker on some Bat Man cartoon I used to watch.

I saw rap singer Puff Daddy / Sean Combs / P. Diddy (whatever he calls himself) playing a lawyer on an episode of CSI: Miami a couple of nights ago.

Truly, Sean Combs is the male equivalent of Madonna when it comes to acting.

Pew-eee, even I could out-act him, and I have almost zero acting experience - he stinks at acting.

The life-size cardboard cut-outs I see of celebrities at "7-11" stores, gas stations, and Wal-Marts are not as flat and lifeless as he is.

Why oh why did the show's producers or casting agents (or whomever decides guest roles) choose him?

He and Madonna would be entertaining on screen only if they were in a movie scene together, because the acting would be so bad, it would be unintentional comedy (think along the lines of Plan 9 From Outerspace).

This review-
Review: 'Star Trek' a thrilling reinvention
-says that Winona Ryder plays Spock's mom in the movie. Winona Ryder? wth.gif

Simon Pegg plays Scotty. Another one that took me by surprise.
