With a vote of 10 for and only 1 against, Aberdeen has approved the proposed merger with the region of Charis to form the new region of Uroca.

As the approved founder of the new region, the next step is to elect an Interim PM since the new region will opperate according to teh Laws of Aberdeen till a new constitution can be voted upon. I am now stating that elections will take place beginning January 24 and ending January 31. The new PM will take over on Feb. 1. and that is the date we will move into the new region.

Good question - I do not know if the logisitics of a vote have actually been worked out yet - especially since both regions have two different voting practices.

Look for those logisticis to be worked out in the very near future. tongue.gif

Logistics are as follows:

Debate and candidates will run on both forums simultaneously. It is recommended that all members monitor what is said on both the Charis and Aberdeen forums

Voting has not been finalized but the admin team is currently leaning towards having the vote take place on the UROCA forum.

The policies of the election will follow Aberdeen Law 2 as we are using the Aberdeen system. The silent vote is actually what has provided the impetuous for using the Uroca forums to minimize the temptation to vote twice - as happened several times on the merger vote

The winner will be the one who gets the most votes across all Urocan members - whether we use seperate or single forum.

EDIT: Imperfectia, Archid and I'll get everything set up for the elections since you're away this weekend. I'm assuming you mean voting takes place on that timeframe, because actual campaigning takes place in the week-and-a-half leadup.

Whats wrong with asking a question..?

IMO Uroca is a stupid name. I like the name Aberdeen.

I’ll side with Pandadice. I guess I’ll have to live with it, but UROCA does sounds stupid.

Anyway, I did vote against the merger. Not because I don’t want it, I just did it for the hell of it. I had fun doing it… But to be honest I don’t feel I have enough clarity of the UROCA as a whole like to make a final decision.

Anyway. How can it be democratically decided if we are just getting to say something after the merger?

Erdaldun, there's been a debate thread open for who knows how long where you could share your opinion on this thing

And knowing UROCA stands for something is a lot better. but "Of" doesn't normally go into abbreviations does it? Shouldn't it be URCA?

I like URCA better, because when I first saw UROCA, I thought it was its own name. This one seems more like an abbreviation. Which IMO, would be better.

I like UROCA better because it is it's own name. But I am a little behind in reading on the forums what does IMO stand for?
