.photo albums. People love pictures, whether you're the one taking them or getting a surprise attack by a family member or friend. Here you can show off and express your life through photos. Pyschologists highly encourage their patients to keep their photo albums close by while they're staying at APFH.

.journals. The patients at APFH are highly encouraged to write in their journals at least three times a week to record how they're feeling so that even if they don't feel like talking to anyone about how they're feeling at least they can get the feelings out of them, and then possibly be able to express them easier to their psychologists and friends.

.the entrance. The entrance really isn't too special, the sliding glass doors open to a small home-feeling lobby in the front of the building that has a couch and some chairs and a few private rooms for interviews before the patients are taken back to where they'll be staying for awhile.

.counseling center. Each patient must come here once a day to meet with their assigned psychologist, except on weekends. This is an area in the treatment center where all of the psychologists offices are located, outside of each office there is a small machine that makes a buzzing sound so that nothing said in the office can be heard by anyone outside the door.

.the bathrooms. The bathrooms are much like the bathrooms in a house, with a toilet, a sink, and tub that includes a shower as well as shower curtain for privacy. However, while staying at APFH you aren't allowed to close the door fully when you're in the bathroom and you have to take a nurse with you who stands by the door to make sure that you aren't purging up your food. You also have to bring them into the bathroom before flushing so they can be sure that you didn't purge at all. It might sound gross, but its for your safety.

.the dining room. The dining room is set up for quite a few people, though is as homely as possible while being set up for so many people. There are actual wooden tables and chairs to sit in, unlike places that had school bench type deals. When you first arrive at APFH you don't cook any of the meals you simply show up at the dining hall six times a day, even if you aren't an eating disorder patient, for three meals and three snacks. Once you move up in levels you start helping out with the cooking, though, so that you can help cook for yourself when you leave.

.the main hallway. Throughout the main hall you'll find most of the theraputic rooms along with the nurses station and the bathrooms. You'll also see a bulletin that tells you where you're supposed to be at the moment, most of the time your days are planned out for you only leaving you a few hours of free time to do with whatever you want. When you first get to APFH you aren't allowed to wonder around the halls alone, you have to have a level three patient, one who is about to graduate the program, escort you around.

.the nurses station. The nurses station is located in the center of everything, close to the rooms that everyone stays with, the bathrooms, and conveniently found in the main hallway. The nurses are pretty much there for you for everything, you need to get one of them when using the bathroom or wanting to take a shower or a bath. You must ask them for a razor, and as embarassing as it may be, girls, you must ask them for pads and tampons as well.

.the art room. In here you can find anything from pencils and paper to paints and murals. Whether you're looking for crayons or oils to work with, you'll find it in here. Along with clay, play-dough, markers, color pencils, model cars and planes to paint, and other art projects to work on. You must have a nurse with you while in this room though, especially if you happen to be sculpting the clay and you need to use anything sharp.

.the fitness center. In the fitness center you'll find yoga and pilates instructors more than happy to help you out in healthy daily exercise. Compulsive over-exercisers are only allowed fifteen minute exercises a day, and kids with eating disorders the same. Everyone else's max is a half hour per day. Yoga really helps with flexibility and relaxation, though, so its highly recommended. Pilates helps keep those abs in shape.

.the kitchen. Once you've moved up from a level one to a level two you're asked to start helping out with cooking your own meals. So on occasion, you'll find yourself in the kitchen working. However, don't get caught in the kitchen un-supervised because you risk being moved back down to a level one.

.the study hall. Since a lot of the people who wind up in here are kids and still in school, you're required to do the homework that your school provides you at a set time each day. The room is a basic one and looks more like an actual classroom more than anything with a teacher's desk infront of the room for a nurse to sit in and student desks filling the rest of the room. Most students sit in the seats towards the back, some sleep, some do work, and some look out the window and space out. What you do with your time is your business, but if you're stuck in here for two hours you mine as well do something to keep yourself occupied. Oh, and no talking.. you'll probably get a dirty look and possibly yelled at by the nurse supervising the study session.

.the game room. The game room is a big room filled with games for the younger kids, books for people of all ages, big comfy bean bag chairs, a big comfy couch and a few other over-stuffed comfy chairs for you to sit in and even possibly watch some TV if you and the other people in there with you can agree on what TV show you'd like to watch.

.the medical wing. You almost never see this place while here unless you've been in it for some reason or another. Drug addicts are brought here for their first week or so to be safe while they go through their withdrawals, other than that if you happen to find someone to cut yourself and cut too deep, or haven't been eating and you faint, this is where you're brought.

.the staff lounge. Only staff members are allowed in the staff lounge, its a fairly good size room with a few comfy couches and chairs along with a kitchen. Coffee and Hot chocolate are easily made and there are snacks in the fridge. This is the room where the staff normally goes on breaks, or if they just need some time away from the craziness that can go on in the hospital.

.the lounge. When you enter the room part of the treatment center before you come the the hallway that is lined with rooms on either side, there is a small room with a big soft comfy couch and a few chairs so that people of both genders can relax for a little bit before going to bed, or they can even sit here and read or listen to their iPods.

.the girl's rooms. The girl's rooms are located on the right side of the hall, two girls per room. The rooms are like dorm rooms only they have no kitchen or bathroom in them, just two beds and dressers to put your stuff in. Don't be surprised if the nurses do a twice a month check to make sure you haven't obtained any contraban items, though. Other than that the rooms are fairly private, however, the nurses do check to make sure everyone is in bed at night.

.the stables. With a nurse or psychologist supervising you, you can go out to the stables for a bit of Equine Therapy with an Equine Therapy Instructor. Or maybe just go for a short ride with your psychologist and have a picnic somewhere for your session instead of the norm. With permission, you and a friend can also go on rides and picnics without supervision, you must be at least a level two in order to do that, though.

.the pool. If you're feeling a bit stressed and you just want to relax a little bit and you happen to enjoy swimming, then of course the outdoor pool is the place for you. Ranging from three feet in the shallow end to twelve feet in the deep end its a pretty good size. It has a diving board in the deep end, and its also heated, and has lights, so at night you can still go swimming even when the temperature is a bit cooler than during the day.

.the deck. If you feel like you need a break from everything, or a breath of fresh air then feel free to step outside onto the deck. Its partially covered, and underneath the part that is covered there are a few massage tables lined up so that if people get stressed out they can get massages to help them relax. Next to that there's a few more similar tables meant to be layed on, those are used by the acupuncturists to help and decrease stress as well.

.the smoking deck. If you need a smoke feel free to step out here, its a small patio off the second floor with a fairly nice view of trees and pretty green fields. Make sure you're eighteen though if you're smoking, otherwise you could possibly get into some trouble.
