And so concludes Dead Solace's first week open. We have a bar brawl (Gunnar/Alexander), one stabbing (Ben), one broken wrist/shooting (Ramona), and after last night, one kidnapping (Lydia) on the record so far. For an opening week I thought would be much more active and busy, it's not a bad draw. I think we all owe Rid's masochistic perseverence a nice round of applause. We can do better, though, especially now that Die Schatten has broken ground with Lydia's pretty brutal kidnapping last night. Word has been passed on to the Flush; there hasn't necessarily been a declared emergency but members are to be on their most vigilant behavior during this shaky period, and an urgence to report any suspicious behavior has been put out.

Welcome to Dead Solace, everyone. I can't really think of a better note to kick off this summer.

As this could be our final summer if active numbers continue to dwindle the way they have since 2007, I really encourage everybody to seek out as much play as possible. Don't be afraid to get dirty or get hurt, that's half the fun of this storyline. I also strongly encourage to build backgrounds and histories between characters, create some plot to play out here. For newer people, we set up a Character Links page to make it easier to create relationships and pasts between other characters, either preexisting or not. I just want to try to make this place a little less clique-ish for new blood. We all love some fresh meat, after all.

On a final note, all Shadows in the roster are designated with black font. The pin design for this week is a koi fish, and yes, Shadows do know about the pins. But while they have their insider, the Deads have one of their own as well. Get out there and spill some blood.

Apologies for the lack of updates, Bri and I were doing the visiting thing for several days last week and I figured I would just wait to update. For those who haven't been around much, we currently have three out of four underbosses injured or missing with the exception of Jamison at the moment. We've also lost Hope, who was front and center stage in the bombings in Roppongi a few nights ago, so keep in mind that much of the Roppongi bars and clubs are closed, if not destroyed. Not many developments on the battle front, though Dahlia has apparently disappeared and Messalina has sustained injuries and Ali remains MIA. Good times.
