the rules.
pre-madonna's of the gutter } g e n e r a lo1.Spelling and Grammar. I know that everyone makes mistakes, and I would be a hypocrite if I had a go at everyone for every single spelling mistake, because I make them all the time. But it isn't difficult to just read through your posts, or spell-check them on a different program, just to make sure. All grammer and punctuation must be used throughout the site, in character, and out. By no means should you use 'text' language. It is very annoying, and many members will not be able to understand it, so please don't bother. If you can't be bothered to write words in full, then dont bother joining, its as simple as that.
o2.Discrimination. Spamming is okay in the ooc forums, but no where else on the board. Discrimination is rude and nasty, even if it does create some drama so I have decided not to allow it. It is not right nor fair. If you have a problem with somebody having a different sexuality to straight, if you have a problem with another religion, or if you have problems with people of different races turn back and leave. Because we will not accept it. If it is in character, then MAKE SURE the other character is okay with it first. If it isn't, then don't bother.
o3.Avatars & Signitures. The admins here at pre-madonna's of the gutter love avs and sigs. Its what makes your character come to life. By the time you've posted your biography we would expect you to already have a play by, and its probably a good idea to claim that play by as your portrayal. Avatars must be 100x100 icons, no bigger than that. Signitures are pretty much your own choice, but if they stretch the page its a no no. Use your common sense, if it looks too big, then it probably is. Also, if you have trouble finding icons or making a signiture, post in the graphics requests section in the ooc. I'm sure someone will fill your request. Oh, and Ceri makes her own icons, so please don't take them unless you have permission, which she will be happy to give if you just ask.c h a r a c t e r so1.Registering. When registering, please make sure that your username consists of a first and a last name. This means, for those of you who don't understand, I don't want anything like 'potterisawesome' or 'Tracy1990'. Middle names are encouraged, but not necessary. And use capital letters! If you have already registered and your username isn't in this format, please don't register again. PM an admin, and we will change it for you.
o2.Character Biographies. One of these must be filled you before you can begin roleplaying on the site. Try and include as much detail as you possibly can, as your biography is how the other members of the board learn all there is to know about your character. If there isn't a lot of information there, then people aren't going to want to roleplay with you as much. It tells you how much you need to write on the template, and you may as well write it when your doing the whole thing, because you'll have to at some stage. We won't accept you until we feel that you've written enough.
o3.Multiple Characters. Okay. So in most forums, you get loads and loads of girls and a handful of guys. What use is it to the girls if all the guys get taken instantly? So thats why we've decided you must have at least one boy to every two girls. You are only allowed a maximum of six characters so the most girls you can have will be 4. But please; don't just create a guy just so you can have the second girl. Be active on all accounts or they'll get deleted.
o4.Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus. If I see one of these I think I will collapse! No ones life is absolutely perfect, and no ones life is a complete train wreck where everyone dies either. Have some originality people, and be realistic! No one is so outrageously beautiful that every guy that sees them faints. Any of these biographies that I read will be denied straight away. I'm not even gonna give you a chance to edit it, because I hate them that much.p o s t i n go1.Post Length. Try to make your posts as long and descriptive as possible. People wont be tempted to reply to your posts if you have only written two to three lines. Try to write up to five lines at the least, and if possible, multiple paragraphs are great. One-liners are strictly banned, and if I find any, I will delete them straight away, without warning. Just think of it as a challenge, the more you write, the better your posts will be, and the more people will want to roleplay with you. When you really think about it, you could probably write a whole lot more than you first thought. Think about the characters surroundings, what they feel like, why they are where they are, and then you may even want to decribe what your character is wearing, how they have their hair etc. Just don't forget the main purpose of the post.
o2.Drugs, Sex & Violence. First of all, all three of these are allowed. However not everyone can be a pothead, a hooker, or a mass murderer. Of course its fun to mix things up with a bit of violence, lust, and cocaine but make sure to keep things under hand. If your character is a drug addict please state so in your application. As far as the sex goes, well of course everyone is going to be a bit passionate and loose their virginity or what not, just be sure to rate your topic R. And also, swearing as allowed, because you cannot tell me teenagers don't swear.
o3.Pregnancy, Death & Other Dramatics. Now I am probably the biggest fan of babies, they're so adorable, however we don't want the site over-running with funerals or babies. To do anything overly dramatic, such as pregnancies and death, you must get permission from an admin to do so. Other overly dramatic events include things like getting paralyzed, moving, going brain dead, and so on.
o4.Speech & Thought. When posting, speech goes in speech marks, or inverted commas, like this: "Hey you guys, whats up?" It may also be easier to make your speech stand out if you put it in bold, but thats not a must. Thoughts go in italics or in single commas. As long as people get the idea then its fine.
o5.Power Playing/God Moding. Basically, its controlling another persons character. You can't do this. Its up to the other person to decide what their character says or does. This includes things like fighting. If your character throws a punch, its the other persons choice to say wether they ducked it or fell to the floor. Pretty simple really.c - b o xo1.Posting. Yes you may double post in the c-box, alsong as its not spam. By spam we mean things like; "Hey you guys" ... "You guys?" ... "Am I alone" ... "IS ANYONE HERE!" Yes, that would be classed as spam, so please don't do it. I understand that sometimes you have to continue into another post, which is totally fine, as long as its not nonsense.
o2.Advertising. You can post links in the c-box, but that doesn't mean you can post advertisements or links to other sites. What you can do is post a link to a thread on the site to save another member looking for it. For example, if someone wants to roleplay with someone else, and they are making a thread, they can post the link to that thread in the c-box for the other person to go there.
