WELCOME Welcome to Winwood Lake Rehabilitation Center, a place where troubled adolescents can come, relax, and enjoy themselves. Often young people who have had troubles in the past (and present) feel like they can't fit in anymore and, despite any therapy they may have gone through, still don't feel completely healed. Here at Winwood Lake, we have a mission to eliminate those feelings with our summer program. For two months, your child will embark on a fun and exciting journey of finding themselves again--or maybe even for the first time.
Our experienced counselors will teach them exercises for controlling unwanted emotions, and have been trained to help attendees in their times of need. However, our program doesn't consist of work only--there's tons of fun, too! Kids can enjoy swimming or hiking, as well as active sports like tennis and volleyball. It will feel just like camp, and at the same time, our subtle therapy will help them overcome their fears and discomfort about the trouble they've experienced.
Please note that although our entire staff has trained in the psychology field, we do not recommend enrolling your child in Winwood in place of regular therapy. Winwood is not the equivalent of professional therapy, but rather a haven for kids still struggling even after therapy.
WHAT WE TREAT... --Behavioral disorders --Physical abuse victims --Depression --Eating disorders --Mental disorders --Personality disorders --Post-trauma victims --Self-mutilation --Sexual abuse victims --Substance abuse
Before we allow your child to join us, you must first fill out a detailed enrollment form. If we deem your child's state too dangerous for other attendees, we have the right to turn down your application.
