Sample Roleplay: From another board: The streets of New York were cold, dull and gray. Steam was rising from the streets with people milling about, places to go and people to see. I sat alone in the door of a store, a cardboard box beneath me, a moth eaten blanket, draped over my legs. It's almost eleven o'clock at night and the streets were still as busy as they were at eleven am. No one looks my way as they pass, like I'm not here. Invisible to the world. People would rather ignore someone elses problems than admit that they are there, making it their problem, too. "Can I sit here?" A deep, heavy American accent spoke to me. I looked up and saw a good looking but dirty man, maybe mid-twenties, in old clothes staring down at me. His nose was running in the cold and he didnt have a blanket. I shifted along the carboard box creating space for him and looked into his eyes, smiling. He needed no words and sat down, pulling half of the blanket right up to his eyes. "Ben." He said, not looking at me. I turned to face the side of his head, confused. "Excuse me?" I asked, trying hard to hide my North London accent. You can never be too sure how people will react when they learn you're not from around here. "My name," He said, turning to look at me, his big green eyes staring right at me. "It's Ben." A small smile was playing on his lips as he turned away again, pulling the blanket back up over his mouth and shivering in the cold New York air.
