The American dream seemed far fetched and unrealistic for a lot of people, but for some, it was firm in their grasp...and it was bowing to their will. One of the most prominent was Lex Luthor.

Three years previously, Lex had developed a virus; a mutant and metahuman killing disease known as the "L-Virus". Along the way, lives were snatched away from innocent people, due to the chaotic, paranoid mind of one business tycoon, but some survived, and were set on revenge.

Batman, known to most as the 'Dark Knight', normally spending most of his time in the recluse of the night; hunting petty criminals and tangling with The Joker, stumbled upon an opportunity. Bruce Wayne, the alter ego, a Billionare one at that, provided that the inter-dimensional time stream could be filtered and manipulated to travel through time using machinery, using the intelligence of one man. He was right. Bruce set to work, while outside, people were dying rapidly due to an ever growing exposure to the L-Virus. It was a race against the clock. Determination prevailed.

The Justice Lords (an alternate time version of the Justice League) were bought to this time. The Justice Lords had already lived through one L-Virus epidemic and conquered it. It seemed that only their help would save this world now.

And help it did. With the Justice Lords' aid, and a futuristic antidote, the L-Virus was eradicated, and couldn't bring harm to Super Humans, or Mutants any longer.

Of course, it didn't stop there.

The existing Justice League was forced into hiding, as the Justice Lords forced their way into the American spotlight. They were stronger, more advanced, and had beaten the Justice League and various Super powered teams to the brink of destruction, this was what they called "necessary". The Justice Lords had taken it upon themselves to fix this broken, unordely dimension and bring in rules and obedience. They ruled, and people followed, due to the fear that they'd be crushed by the overwhelming power of the big six.

The Military couldn't rebel; the Justice Lords ran the army, even the government. Batman threw away his Super Hero identity, and carried on the following time as Bruce Wayne. The guilt and depression raptured him, having bought this upon America. Even out of good intentions, the bad feelings were too much to bear. It seemed all the Justice League felt the same, each constantly battling with their inner demons, although, it wasn't going to stay that way for long.

The Justice Lords continued to dominate, but each case grew in severity. People were being imprisoned, and nobody had freedom of speech, or even free will. Schedules were made for people to follow, lives were controlled down to the last minute detail and if they were not obeyed; prison was a surety. Though, this wouldn't be just any prison. You would be transformed, re-educated, and thrown back into the public, a new brainwashed candidate.

The Justice League gathered together; something had to be done. If they didn't stop at America, the Justice Lords would eventually control the world. That wasn't about to happen. With the exception of Batman, who couldn't be located or contacted, the Justice League set against their counterparts. It was a long battle, both sides wouldn't give in and despite the difference in strength, the Justice League managed to stay alive, though barely.

It came as a surprise to all when Batman appeared out of the blue, holding the Dimensional portal he had used to summon the Justice Lords along with the theory that it'd also take them back. Even the mutants helped, as a super powered barrage pushed the Justice Lords back through the gate.

America rejoiced, Neighbours celebrated, and the veil of gloom was lifted. But, it didn't end there. The reputation of Mutants and Superheroes had taken a bruising. The population came to the objective that, if superheroes from the future could behave in such a manner, why couldn't the present set? The hastily elected, paranoia stricken leader only served to increase the allegation, bringing in registration laws with the approval of all but a few civilian. Now, every hero, mutant, and even villain, when they're not in Arkham or Alcatraz was listed, name, and powers, to determine how much of a threat they were.

There were revolts, but they were subsided, people rebelled, and they were arrested. It seems that world round, we've gone from the fire into the frying pan. No better off now than under the control of the Justice Lords a year before. The year is 2013, and this is Colourblind.
