&__other poison devils

character name;; Giovanni Guiseppe James Jesse
codename;; The Trickster
nicknames;; He'll answer to almost anything really.
age;; 27
alliance;; Neutral

power;; No natural power unless a gigantic grin and the ability to pull off stripes constitutes a power. Instead, James relies on his skills as a conman and an assortment of gadgets he has created, most notably his air-walker shoes. It's sort of hard to rob planes in mid-flight without them, after all. Other than the shoes, James has a number of creative toys and explosive baked goods at his disposal.

power weaknesses;; He would dearly like to think that there is no weakness in him but he must have some self-awareness after all. His conman life leaves him very unlikely to trust others. He's not to be trusted so why should anyone else. His gadgets, of course, are breakable but he's distrusting enough to not rely solely on them. If the air-walker shoes go out while he's using them though that would be quite ugly, terrified of heights and falling not to mention an ugly ending.

play-by;;
Carmine Giovinazzo

&__straight to video

height;; 6'0
build/weight;; 168 with a build something like a gymnast, especially the limbs.
tattoos/scars/piercing;; There's a tattoo of a coyote
unique features;; The grin, definitely the grin.

appearance in depth;;

Well, Trickster is right about one thing. He's not exactly hard on the eyes but might not be all he talks himself up as being. He has reason to be as sure of his appearance as he is though although the stripes, while quite enhancing, do start to look a bit silly after a while. James is very self assured on the fact that he can pull them off no matter the occasion though and there really isn't much point in trying to tell him any different.

Basic facts are that James stands around six foot and weighs approximately 180 pounds. He keeps his blonde hair fairly short as he realized the mistake of his long hair in the 90s. His eyes are blue but most people remember that they've got a leering quality to them instead of colour. Unless he makes an effort towards being otherwise, James looks a tad scruffy, complete with the five o'clock shadow.

4. Smelling. Nobody falls for the conman who smells.

6. The stripes being mocked. They're very well chosen, thank you.

personality in depth;;
James Jesse loves himself and so should everyone else. He's pretty damned fantastic after all so there's no denying there's things to love. With that in mind it's pretty easy to say that James is perhaps, just a little bit, a wee bit, smidgen, full of himself. He's more than a bit cocky but really, he just doesn't see much need in hiding behind some form of self modesty. He thinks he's awesome so everyone else gets to hear just how awesome he thinks he is.

A lot of the ego is just James inflating it for his own enjoyment though. He is egotistical but he doesn't really take himself all that seriously. He knows what he is and he's okay with that. James might be an idiot and an ass but he's his ass. That makes it okay in his book.

James is easily bored which is probably why he gets himself into so much trouble. He lives for excitement and new thrills. Once he figures out he can get away with something he's ready to try to get away with something even bigger. Pressing his luck is thrilling and James isn't sure he could really live any other way. He's just even more fantastic the way he is.

&__thumbing through the pages

relationships;; At the moment, none.
occupation;; Former FBI agent, conman, and special effects designer.

history in depth;;

James Jesse was born Giovanni Giuseppe into a family of famous aerialists which really was unfortunate for him as he did not take to heights at all. He liked everything else there was that went along with the lifestyle, the crowds and putting on a show but...heights...eugh. Everything else was thrilling though so James was determined to take part and wasn't about to let one little detail ruin everything for him. So, through a lot of trial and error and sheer willpower, James worked his way around that little detail with his air walking shoes and got the taste of fame that he wanted.

Fame was fantastic but now what he was doing was rather mundane. He had already done it and James desperately needed something different, challenging, new. Eventually this mindset of his led him to a life of crime. Crime, you see, is always different, challenging, and new. The appeal just never quite wears off. There's always a new challenge and a great payoff.

Of course, there's the problem of getting caught. The Flash was an especially sharp thorn in his side. The first main time his enjoyable life of crime was put to an end was when he found himself brainwashed into being a law abiding citizen. Though he wasn't exactly the most pleased of people upon finding out, James was close to the straight and narrow for a while, or as much as he could be anyway, using his skills as a conman to catch conmen as he joined up with the FBI.

His time with the FBI simply wasn't meant to last long though. He could still hear the call of his old life and how much fun it had been. Soon enough he put on his Trickster gear again and rejoined his old family into the life he was sure was best for him and he's not looked back since. Well, not much anyway. When things started to appear like they were going to hell in a hand-basket James did his fair share of looking back. During the whole Justice Lords debacle it wasn't exactly time to play criminal, especially in a brightly striped costume. James, for lack of a better phrase, laid low and kept his nose clean. Nothing was fun like it had previously been. The thrill was still there but instead of the adrenalin rush now it was more like a defecation-inducing bad idea. The situation didn't exactly improve much without them. James, though he won't admit it, doesn't know what to do anymore. Right now he sees things as a sort of damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

Roleplay Sample;;

Am I good or what? Owen saw Tosh pretty much just as he had imagined she would be looking, incredibly wary. Though she had fixed up a bit more for the occasion than Owen had. He had never managed to feel under dressed in a pub before unless it involved nudity. Was that something he should be thinking of on a date with Tosh? That just didn't seem right. None of this seemed right to be perfectly honest. Perhaps he had just slipped into a parallel universe after dying and just hadn't realized it yet. Now how would that be for an afterlife? Owen fought hard to keep the smirk off of his face. The last thing he needed was for Tosh to think he was laughing at her or something. Sometimes he wouldn't blame Tosh if she took a notion to beat him with that cue she was holding onto so desperately.

Owen realized that since he was quickly closing the ground between him and her he was going to have to come up with something to say. Oh this was perfect. Had his clever tongue that had gotten him in and out of such a number of scrapes managed to abandon him now? That was just unheard of. Not quite as good as you think after all. Right, something to say. This was easy, right? It was his forte even. Well, his job was his forte really. Having a smart mouth just came naturally. Okay Owen, if you muck this up the other's probably won't let you live it down any time soon. Smart mouth, it was time to work your mojo.

“Your thin friend there been keeping you company while you waited on me?” Owen gestured to the pole as he mentally critiqued the comment he had just let pass his lips. All things considering it failed miserably short. It wasn't clever at all, more than a tad sorry really. Not only did it not live up to Owen's generally high expectations of what he let himself vocalize but it also managed to remind Tosh that she had more than likely been waiting some time for him to drag his sorry arse on into the pub. Oh brilliantly played. You're sure to win a prize for that one. Why don't you go on ahead and tag on something about the drink to that as well? Well this was a marvelous start. Owen wondered if it would be better if Tosh really did beat him with the cue in her hand and make a run for safety away from the pub. Owen hoped though that things would at least for a while go uphill from this point. He had managed to set the threshold fairly low it would seem after all.

Owen made himself look at Tosh in an attempt to gage her reaction. It was more than a bit hard to see through his own thoughts of what she was probably thinking and the nervousness that was more than readily apparent. Of course, Owen had thought that nervous was something of Tosh's default behavior. Maybe it was just her being around him though. That was oddly flattering. Owen caught himself smirking slightly at the thought but it was too late to stop it now. It would just look all the more awkward if the expression suddenly vanished. It was out there and any attempt to take it back was more than too late. Owen just hoped she didn't manage to take it the wrong way.

“So then...you fancy a game?” Owen waved his arm towards the pool table. Pool wasn't exactly his thing to be perfectly honest. He had a feeling it was Tosh's thing though. If it had been anyone else he would have made a crack about her knowing her way around a stick and some balls but...it was Tosh and that was just another thing about this that was absolutely bizarre.
