Cat yawned loudly as she strolled over to her chair and took a seat at her desk. One cup of coffee was never enough for her, but two cups was always too much. She looked at her clock and saw the daunting 9:00 AM flash across her eyes. She had just started her shift but felt like she had alread been there for hours. Just 8 more hours left, she thought to herself as she began to check for messages.
Fortunately there were no messages she needed to relay...as of yet. Good. Now she had the whole morning to herself. She put on her headset, and opened up her side drawer, taking out her most prized possesion she kept here...a nail file. Yes it was more than typical for a Receptionist to be seen filing her nails, but Cat didn't care. The phone then rang, and she answered it by pushing her most used button. "Thank you for calling Thomas Press Holdings, this is Catalina how can I help you?" she answered without even trying to sound as professional as she always did.
Cat continued to groom her nails as she listened to a woman rant about a certain article that appeared in yesterday's Tribune. A complaint, what a surprise. Almost all of her calls were complaints at this time in the morning. There was always at least one person that called every morning to complain about what was put in the previous day's paper. If she had it her way Cat would simply tell those people, "to fuck off, and stop reading the paper if they felt so strongly about it." As nice as it would be, she knew that behavior would get her into trouble eventually. So she had to keep on with her same routine. "I'm sorry to hear about that Ma'am. There is a page on our website though, that allows you to fill out a proper complaint online." The woman did not like this answer, and her bitchy tone was enough to prove it.
It was always hard not to laugh when they asked to speak with someone like the Editor-in-Cheif, or the President of the Board...as if they'd want to listen to a complaint. "I'm sorry, but neither of them are available for complaints, but the website allows you to file one more efficiently." Now it was really hard not to laugh at the angry woman. "You don't have a computer?" She put the woman on mute so she could let her giggle out. "In that case let me transfer you to our complaints Department," she replied, lying her ass off. Oops. Cat quicly transferred the crazy woman to her victim of the day, Olivia Meyers. It wasn't that she hated Olivia's guts and had a Vendetta out for her...she just didn't care for the girl. She was Ramsey's assistant, and just had that bitchy girl look about her. Cat was always nice to Liv, but oculdn't help herself from being devious. She giggled quietly, and continued filing her nails away. Did a new Vogue come out today?
