Basic Rules[x] This site has a mature rating. Therefore, there will be sex, drugs, violence, and other explicit role playing. However, we do ask that you put a rating/warning in your topic title or description. Go back and edit it, if things get explicit after the topic is created. This is not to say that you have to role play those sorts of things. It's just a warning that other people may, if they wish.
[x] Respect everyone who is a member or guest at OTS. This means: no OoC fighting. Please be kind, even if you don't agree with someone else's opinions. If you want to fight; do it over e-mail or messenger. Keep it off the board! This includes PMing.
[x] An admin's word is law. Don't argue with them, because they are right and you are wrong. Be respectful of them, and follow the rules, so that we won't have to scold you.
[x] Don't ever pose as another member. Not in the Cbox and not on the board. It's disrespectful and childish.
[x] No pornographic images. You will immediately be banned if you post explicit pictures and/or links to pornography websites. It's disgusting, and no one here wants to take part in it.
[x] Stay active! When you become less active or inactive, it causes others to do the same. Then eventually, less and less people are active, and the board dies. Leave absent notices in the proper place if you're going to be away for more than four days. Post at least three or four times a week; posts on the OoC forum don't count. Any character that hasn't posted in ten to fourteen days will be deleted.
[x] This site is for advanced role players only. All posts should be three or four paragraphs long. Paragraphs have five to eight sentences minimum. One-line replies are not accepted. One paragraph replies won't get you brownie points either.
[x] To go along with the above rule; you must use correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Use some sort of spell check or proof read your work yourself. We don't expect you to be perfect; little mistakes are fine. Don't make them habitual, though.
[x] Don't post SPAM, and don't double post. There is an 'edit' button for a reason. It is your friend. Use it!
[x] Every account needs an icon or signature, so that we can have an idea of what your character looks like without looking at their profile. Both is fantastic.
[x] Signatures cannot stretch the board.
[x] Advertising is only allowed in the advertising forum. Don't advertise in the CBox or any other boards, aside for the forum dedicated to advertising.
[x] When topics are dead or finished, they are closed and moved to the archives forum. If your topic is finished, please PM a staff member to have it moved. Characters[+] When you register, you should register with your character's first, middle, and last name. Good examples are: Rena Tristan Smith & Charles David Miller. Bad examples are: Rena Smith, Rena, & gclover23. No stupid crap, okay?!
[+] Teenage and premarital sex isn't uncommon, these days. However, most people are intelligent even to use protection [ex; condoms & birth control]. Protection doesn't always work though. Girls do get pregnant and girls and boys contract STDs. If you want your character to be a whore, at least be realistic.
[+] We don't need a thousand pregnant women running around here! If you want your character to get pregnant after having sex with whoever, it must be okay with the father's role player; and you must get permission from an admin. We may tell you 'no' if you don't have a decent plot to go along with it.
[+] If you want one of your characters to die, you must get permission from an admin. Again, we may tell you no if you don't have a plot to go along with it. If it comes down to it, you can always give someone your character. Isn't that much nicer? ;D
[+] There, as of today, isn't a character limit. You may play as many characters as you can handle. Please remember to keep them all active. If you become overwhelmed, feel free to contact an admin so we can help you solve the problem.
[+] No perfect characters! Real people have flaws! Actually, they have lots of them. Give your character depth and originality. Give him/her lots and lots of flaws!
[+] Characters must be represented by a real person. No cartoons or anime. Post in the face claim to claim your celebrity/person. If you don't and someone else makes and character and posts a claim before you do; the person/celebrity is theirs and you'll have to change your character's played by. So, be responsible, and post in the face claim!
[+] You role play in past, third person; not first or second person... third person. A good example is: She walked past the cute boy, and then she turned and waved at him. A bad example is: I'm walking past the boy and turning and waving at him. Get the point? Kapeesh? Good. ;D
[+] Keep your characters realistic. They're not a god. So, don't godmod. Characters do get hurt or injured, just like in real life. Don't powerplay either. If you don't know what godmodding or powerplaying is; ask and admin.
[+] Try not to register with the same last or first name as another character. If characters are related, it's okay for their last names to be the same. Otherwise, keep your names original, so that we won't have to ask you to change them. Only one of each first name is allowed. Please view the name claim to see what names are already taken.
[+] If you end up playing a canon character with siblings: if the siblings are already claimed, please read their profiles. Profiles should be similar [same parent names, etcetc.]. HAVE FUN!
