[Raelin Lorcan]

Raelin was in a tizzy, she wasn't sure if it was the cold wind getting to her, or Jake's eggs, but she certainly wasn't going to admit that it was his kiss this morning. She needed to talk to Danae...now.

She walked into the Hall of Records on her own accord, she rarely came here if she could help it, the silenc was stifling and she felt hot just by walking into the room. The few Resourcers that had gathered gave her strange looks as she walked past them and she gave her complmentary scowl to show them that she had seen them.

She of course had forgotten all about the dark green shirt she was wearing, the color setting off her lucious hair and dark eyes, her pale skin glowed underneath it,, but brought a soft pink to her cheeks as her soft and dtermined foot falls echoed around her.

"DANAE!" she finally shouted, stopping in the middle of the hall and crossing her arms. Screw walking, she wanted to talk to Danae NOW and to hell with wasting all her good energy trying to ferret Danae out of whatever hole she'd secreted herself too in here.

"It's got to be here somewhere," she muttered, her brows furrowed in concentration as she stood balance on a middle rung of a ladder, scanning the titles of old leatherbound books on a high shelf. "Banshees, Basilisk, Bats, Baxajuan, Beast of Bodmin, Belfries, Big Foot...Ah ha! Black Dog," she said in triumph, as she pulled one of the books from the shelf.

As she made her descent, a scream rung out in the quiet realm of the Resourcers, causing Danae to miss the last four rungs of the ladder, but still somehow, she managed to land on her feet..with book still in hand, of course.

"DANAE!"

Shaking her head slightly to clear the ringing in her ears, Danae finally made her way down a narrow aisle and emerged in the atrium of the room, brow already raised as she looked at Raelin. "The next time we've a banshee encounter, we'll just let you scream at it 'til it goes away," she said, her voice quiet as always, but with a smirk on her lips, she delivered the words. "Now, what in seven hells are you bellowing my name for?"

Raelin only flashed a perverse smile at thye woman she had come to love as a sister before striding over and grabbing her arm. "This way please," she motioned to a secluded corner as she headed over, practically dragging the other woman with her. She really wasn't in the mood to dilly dally with small talk just yet, she had to spill her secret, had to share with someone who would understand.

As they entereed the dim isle lined with books Rae dropped Danae's arm and took a deep breath. "Alright uh...don't tell ANYONE what I'm about to tall you," she ordered, her harsh gaze promised pain for betrayal before she took another breath and wrung her hands.

"I...uh...hired...someone..." she hesitated for a moment. "I hired someone to be my lover for six months!" she finally just blurted out before slapping a hand over her mouth and looking around at the books as if they had heard each and every word she had just said.

Rae's gaze then swung over to Danae to see her friends reaction.

Danae let herself be dragged, stopping and waiting for this grand secret, giving a nod as she swore to never tell a soul, to take it to her grave, and all those others necessary promises of sealed lips.

"I hired someone to be my lover for six months!"

She blinked, then blinked again. Hired a lover? Had Danae heard her right? "Come again?" she said, asking for some sort of explanation. Surely her ears had deceived her. Raelin was beautiful, if anything...Why would she ever need to go to revert to such drastic measures?

"Come again?"

Raelin wasn't surprised at Danae's shock, in fact, she'd been expecting it. "It's just like I said, I hired someone to be my lover for six months...I figured if he was contractially obligated there was less of a chance for him to run out on me..." she explained. "And uh...I was desperate and short of picking someone random up off the street I called an escort service..." she admitted.

"But Danae...he's so...HOT!" Raelin confessed. It was quite unlike her and she blamed Jake for it. "He's tall and like this..." she spread her hands to show Danae his impressive structure. "And he's got hair that's brown like mine and oh my god Danae, he talks back! Like...you or Marcus," Raelin had to stop and take a breath. "He's all mine for 6 months..." she added.

She paused then to see what, if anything Danae had to say, a slightly worried look graced Raelin's brow, she never showed it usually, but Danae's opinions really matted to her, although she had to admit that even if Danae thought this was a bad idea she was still going to go through with it because it was nice to have a person to sleep with at night.

As Raelin told Danae of this newly procured escort, the young woman reached up, rubbing her chin, nodding all the while.

It had been such a long time since Danae had seen Raelin this excited and honestly, it was too refreshing for her to even think of judging the means by which that gleam in her best friend's eye came.

After all, who was she to judge? She had fallen for a vampire investigator that viewed her as that young woman who had grown up in his midst.

Danae took the pause to mean it was time for a commentary, and all she could do was offer up a soft smile. "Well, I say it's about time, quite honestly. Pining over Morpheus doesn't suit you...but it seems that this one does. If it makes you happy, then I'm happy for you and support whatever zany idea you'll have next." A grin danced on her lips as Danae prodded a little more. "So...You've told me looks, the degree of hotness, and even given me measurements...What's he like? What's his name? Come now, I'm the best friend; Am I not entitled to details?"

"Oh! His name is Jacob Hart and he's like...oh my god Danae, I can't even describe it! He's so sexy all the time, it's like he eats it for breakfast! AND HE COOKS!" she shouted in a hiss, knowing full well that if she yelled in here she was libal to get thrown out. "And...when I'm sleeping next to him..on him...whatever...I don't have nightmares..." she whispered.

"Not once and it's been three days! I used to have nightmares with Drake too, I mean, every other night it seemed and then with Greer it was every night and then they just got worse when I was alone and just...I don't know what that means Danae!!" she mulled it over for a moment. "It's not even like I control my own house anymore though...I found his socks the other day on different sides of the room!" Rae's demeanor changed again as she started bitching.

"And his shampoo and stuff takes up more space than my things in the shower and it always smells like him when I got into take a shower and his clothes are all over my closet and dresser...and his shoes are piled by the front door..." she went on and listed all of his flaws, especially that he snored at the weirdest times and liked to reduce the strength of her coffee in the morning AND he'd done away with her beer.

"Not that I even liked beer, it was just something for me to drink besides water..." she added finally.

"Oh! His name is Jacob Hart..."

Though she half-listened to the other things said, and could more than likely spit them back out to Raelin is she countered her with that. "Are you listening to me?"...Danae was still stuck on that name.

Jacob Hart...Jacob...Jake Hart...She knew Raelin had said he was an escort, hired for six months to be her live-in lover...

"So...he's always been an escort?" she asked finally, her arms crossing over her chest as always when something was puzzling her. "That name...It sounds familiar, Rae."

"Well I guess, I mean, he was doing some other stuff before then I mean it's not like he got out of school and decided to be a male escort for crying out loud!" she shrugged.

"Why does it sound familar..." she suddenly snapped, growing weary. Why would Danae think Jake's name sounded familar. "He isn't someone we have to bring in is he?" Pain almost radiated from her eyes though her mouth and face was set in a hard determined lines.

Just like before everything was getting taken away from her, though technically she had just met Jake, however the prospect of being lied to only served to piss her off even more.

At the snappish tone, Danae merely gave her a look. She could understand the sentiment quite easily, but 'Don't shoot the messenger' did cross her mind.

"Why does it sound familar..."

Pressing her lips together in thought, Danae glided back through the years, and there it was, staring her straight in the face. Jacob Hart...Tall, dark, and handsome certainly fit. Talented, skilled...but life had gotten in the way, or so his story had been told.

Danae looked back at her dear friend again and gave a quiet sigh. "Jacob Hart...Ages ago. He had tried to join MSI," she confided quietly, glancing around for a moment and seeing that they were undoubtedly alone. "Don't you remember?"

As soon as she asked the question, Danae regretted it. She had made it her priority to know all that happened within MSI; Raelin, however, had not been expected to do the same.

Raelin's expression turned downright sinister as she absently put her hand on her gun. "If I recall...ages ago I wasn't in much of a mood to pay attention to rookies..." she fairly hissed as her hackles raised at the mere thought that Jake had once been perusing the halls of MSI, that he had ditched the prospect of working in it's hallowed halls to be a whore?! She couldn't even FATHOM that.

The reasonable part of her mind tried to calm her down, tried to reason with her. Just because he didn't join MSI didn't mean that he was disrespecting it and even though she would be the first to admit that she hated her job she was still damn good at what she did and there was honor in that!!! Blind rage fairly consumed her as she set her face into hard lines.

"I have to go, I'll call you later." she snapped as she turned sharply on her heels and started walking away. "Tell Marcus I won't be in today!" she added over her shoulder as she stalked away.

Watching as the flames of rage slowly swelled in her eyes, Danae knew, without a doubt, what was coming.

"I have to go, I'll call you later. Tell Marcus I won't be in today!"

As she turned to walk away, Danae caught her arm in a firm hold, stopping her. With the way she had been speaking of Jacob moments before, letting her go this way would be disasterous at best.

"No...No, no, no," Danae said, shaking her head. "No...Now, just cool it a minute. Let's not be rash."

Right...Not be rash. For a moment, Danae clearly had forgotten who she was speaking to...At least there was something in her favor; Raeling would listen to her when the words of everyone else were sure to fall on deaf ears.

Raelin didn't want to listen, she didn't feel like listening. "Who says I'm being rash, I'm going to go home and have a conversation with my live in lover and demand the truth. I mean, there has to be a reason why he decided to have nothing to do with MSI right? I obviously shouldn't take it as a personal slight against myself seen as how he couldn't have possibly known me and vice-versa. I just find it extremely irritating that he wouldn't have told me.."

But why was she so upset about it? That's the part that didn't make any sense at all, part of her wanted to feel slighted, another part was furious that they could have met sooner, could have been something sooner, she wouldn't have had to destroy countless peices of furniture in her quest to make herself feel more alive. She wouldn't have had to nearly chase Drake away because she was so insanely jealous that he was able to move on.

She took a deep breath, hardly to calm herself and almost wrenched her arm from Danae to keep going, besides, no matter her friend said here, when she got home in a few minutes things were going to get ugly.

"Who says I'm being rash, I'm going to go home and have a conversation with my live in lover and demand the truth. I mean, there has to be a reason why he decided to have nothing to do with MSI right? I obviously shouldn't take it as a personal slight against myself seen as how he couldn't have possibly known me and vice-versa. I just find it extremely irritating that he wouldn't have told me.."

Danae raised a brow, then slowly shook her head. She was one to merely roll with the flow, hardly angered and rarely excitable when it came to extreme situations. It was why she was a resourcer, after all- level-headed, even in the most dire of straits.

"Love, calm yourself, please. Another few lines and I believe you'll have the makings of a genuine monlogue," she said, teasing lightly in an effort to lessen that scowl that had invaded Raelin's face. "I'm sure he has a reasonable explantion for why he chose not to join MSI...Perhaps Antony denied him...Perhaps something came up. Try not to blow a fuse until you find legititmate cause to do so..."

Raelin flashed Danae a brilliant smile. "Oh come on Danae, I have perfectly good furniture at home why on earth would I want to break it?" she inquired with a lifted eyebrow. "Besides, I just met the man, I don't really have a reason to scream at him...yet..." she hoped it was a convincing lie.

"And it's like I said, I haven't taken it personally, I'm just slightly irked that he lied to me and you know how much I hate liars..." she practically pleaded.
