Kylie let out a deep set yawn as she sat down her books and backpack in front of her usual table within the library. And saying 'usual table' was definately not just something to make space, Kylie spent most afternoons in the school library, studying for exams and such. And it wasn't like she had SATS to do again this year or anything. Yet, here she was. Studying like she still had oh-so-far to go before graduation. But all in all, it was only a few months until graduation. Alright, ten months is far from a few months, but still. Knowing how easily the school year managed to fly by in previous years, it was obvious that this was one was going to fly by in hyper drive.
Taking her eyes away from her pile of books that had been used through out the day, her eyes strayed toward the window. It was a perfect day; the sun was shining as bright as it could, and the clouds were steering clear. There was a soft rustle of leaves, which led her to think that perhaps autumn wasn't as far away as it had seemed, despite the persistent temperatures that always seemed to force the idea that it was very much so still summer within the minds of alabama residences. A distant memory triggered with the thought, the smell of wet leaves after a autumn rainfall. A sweet, fragrent scent that brought back the memories that she shared with her siblings from many years past. God, time flew way too fast.
Peeling her eyes from the window, she brought her eyes back toward the attention of her math book. It was rediculous, really. It was the first week of the year, and the teacher had already assigned homework. Of course, Kylie wasn't one to ignore the man's assignments, but the fact that he assigned the homework while summer was still in full bloom slightly upset her, as it did her fellow classmates. Letting out a soft sigh, she pulled a strand of her dark red hair behind her ear. It was then, that the thought of getting disrupted by a fellow classmate, or even a complete stranger sounded more intriguing with each second that it lingered within her mind.

As Sydney took out a book from from the Sci-Fi section, she gasped. It had just dawned on her that she had homework. She had never officially taken homework seriously. Matter of fact, she wasn't very fond of school at all. She hated how the teachers acted to the kids, and then they were you perfect cup of tea to the parents. Sydney just laughed at the thought of bitchy teachers actually being nice to the pupils for once in their lives. As Sydney peeled open the ginormous book, she couldn't help but realize the book had a dolphin on it. In the Sci-Fi section? She put the book back, and looked at one just three away. It had an alien plastered to the front. She thought to herself, "Wow, an alien! Isn't that just dandy?" She smiled, being fed up with all this book searching. She might as well not even do the project, but she didn't want her parents grounding her any longer, so she'd have to.
As she inhaled and exhaled once, and then twice, she sat down at a gray table with almost ninty wads of gum under it. She shivered to herself. As she started to look around for anything to distract her, she saw a girl. A girl with gorgeous hair and porcelain skin. Sydney didn't know this girl, but she looked quite a bit older than herself. She didn't know if she should talk to her or not, just because she was obviously pretty into the book she was reading. Sydney saw her look out the window at something, and decided to leave her alone. She'd just have to sit down, and try not to think about all the homework she had. And anyways, it just a few weeks into school, she shouldn't have had that much homework. She just sighed, deciding to look out the window, too. She saw birds feeding their babies worms. It was nature, and nature was absolutely gorgeous.
