A multi-year contract? There are YEARS of story for Malcolm?

Queen MAB has lost her mind.

I don't know if it's Victor's absence or not, but Y&R has been pretty dull lately. The only thing I'm really interested in is Chance and Cloe. The Amber-Daniel nonsense doesn't interest me or Chancellor Ent going public or Adam/Sharon. I'm not a Billy Abbott fan so he and whatshername are boring. I guess the Mary Jane clone s/l could be interesting but nothing yet.

The Lily thing depresses me because I think the cancer has just gone on too long (prays Noah gets his sight back quicker).

I have to agree with you. Chance and Chloe are working for me, too, and everything else has been a little bit boring. The show is clearly marking time until Victor comes back.

If they were going to recast him, I would have rather they cast Peter Parros in the role of Malcolm. Peter is good looking enough to be believeable as Neil's brother.

But even I know that every actor is replaceable. I always thought that Shemar Moore was more than just a pretty face on Y&R. He's a very good actor too.

I haven't watched a full episode of Y&R since before I went on vacation over a month ago. I've only seen a few minutes here and there during the week. I'm sure I'll start watching again at some point, but I don't miss it right now. I was also totally ready for a break from Victor. I don't see any logical way that they can redeem him, but of course they will.

I feel really bad for the actor taking over the role of Malcolm if he ever reads all the comments that are posted in that blog. But, on the other hand, he should have known better. Malcolm is supposed to have been a hot model, debonair and suave, a man women swooned over. That actor has to know that he's not right for the job. Just like Sarah Palin, he should have said no, for the good of humanity, when they offered him the gig. The only way this recast could possibly fly is if Malcolm was mauled by a lion or something while he was over in Africa and he had to get extensive reconstructive surgery, and even then I don't know why they couldn't have sent him to Sheila or Patty's plastic surgeon.

Since I don't read spoilers for Y&R, is that it for Phillip yesterday? Or are there plans to bring him back. They really messed up his return. Is Rafe gone as well?

I thought Rafe was gone too, but I saw him recently when Sharon just got released from the pyschiatric hospital after learning that her baby, Faith "died." So at least we still know that Rafe is still around.

As for Thom Bierdz's Phillip, I think that will be it for him. I saw on a magazine taht Phillip says goodbye, so Thom must be out. The story with Phillip just wasn't working. The beginning was great when Phillip came out, but ever since then, he's hardly been shown.

I can't say I'm surprised. Even when the storyline with Adam and Rafe started, and then hearing about Phillip 3's return, I knew it would never go anywhere. Y&R is still as homophobic now, as it ever was.

That aside, Y&R is still one of the best soaps in daytime right now. and OLTL is starting to become one of them as well with their gay storyline they are telling.

As for ATWT and Nuke, the show is at least getting something right by doing this "blind" storyline for Noah. It gives Jake and Van great material to work with and they haven't really had anything this great to work with for a long time.

Well, I don't mind if Philip comes back, so long as he isn't used as a love interest for either Luke or Noah when they make the jump to Y&R next year :D

Personally, I would like to see them bring Rafe back too. Not as a love interest, necessarily, but just as a second gay character.

I hope he comes back and seduces Adam. :D

IMO, Y&R is REALLY boring these days. I don't know if it is the lack of Victor or what but there's just no interesting s/l's at the moment. And the Adam-Sharon thing is just so awful considering what he's done to her (and his crying yesterday was so FAKE). Even the Chance-Chloe thing has gotten dull (but it's about to get better I think) and that was the only thing I was really interested in.

I agree that Y&R has been a little adrift with Victor gone. But...I find that sometimes these fallow periods lead the to the most interesting stuff. Phyllis trying to save Daniel, for instance, has been silly so far (though Michelle Stafford has had some great scenes), but what she's going to do? Will be insanely fun to watch. And I'm a sucker for a love story about a do-gooder virgin, evidently, because I still enjoy every moment Chance and Chloe are on my screen.

I suspect Billy is right though, Chloe will be the one to disappoint Chance.

But I like "do-gooder virgins" as well. The fact that he is so damn good looking doesn't hurt either. I wish ATWT could have gotten him instead of The Screamer.
