These are the rules for XMS. They are important to the smooth running and friendly atmosphere of our site. Thanks for reading them. .: OOC Rules :.
1. Why we are here- XMS was created to be a friendly, moderate-to advanced Role playing game. This board is meant to be fun, creative, and intelligent. This means that the writing on the board, both IC and OOC should be thought out and planned. This doesn't mean that we won't have fun, because we will, but we don't want to have fun at other's expense.
2. Standards- XMS is looking for individuals who are courteous, respectful, kind, and who know how to have a good time. This means no flaming, no discrimination, and no talking behind people's backs. We are here to come together hopefully has a group of friends to have fun, and leave the drama of our personal lives behind us.
3. We, as the admins, will listen to any complaints that you have, and are willing to help try to work them out with you. This is not a "what the admin says goes" type of site, and I don't ever want it to be. However if you have a problem with us, then please, take it up with the individual you are having a problem with. This is especially important for us admins. We do talk, and we will find out if you have been badmouthing us behind our backs. It's rude, and inconsiderate.
4. Expectations - Simple really, we expect for you to read and follow the rules, and pay attention to your fellow members. Get to know each other! That way it's not so hard to come up with excellent plots, and thoughtful character interactions.
.: IC Rules :.
1. The most important rule. No Godmodding. Please don't do something to another character without their permission. This is important, and if severe enough will be a bannable offense. If you are worried that you may have accidentally moved someone without their permission, then simply tell them in a small OOC note at the bottom of your thread to ask for edits if required.
2. There is not going to be a posting minimum. After all, if your character was approved, then it means you did something right. However don't slack on your writing. We don't want a novel every post, but neither do we want one-liners.
3. Spelling and grammar- Now, I myself am a horrible speller and terrible at grammar. However blatant and obvious grammar mistakes can be annoying to people that are threading with you. Read over your post and make sure you can understand it before you post.
.: Technical Rules :.
1. When you register, please register as your character's first and last name. If their last name is unknown, then register as their first name.
2. No OCs are allowed at this time. Perhaps once the ranks fill out a little more they will be allowed but currently they are not allowed. There is a canon list
here if you are having a hard time deciding who to pick.
3. If you have any questions that were not covered then please as them in our
FAQ section.
Good luck! And have fun!
