Date: Monday June 8, 2008 Mid-morning (about 9) Tags: Logan and Ororo, other X-Men
((OOC: Scott being admin NPC'd for the time being))
This morning Jean managed to convince Scott that three mornings in a row of Danger Room training was overboard. She couldn't convince him to go to the kitchen in pajamas and a robe though, so she waited in bed for her husband to finish his shower, before taking her own. Deciding that the first weekday after the school semester was over was a day for rest, Jean didn't bother putting on a skirt and top, opting instead for a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. She let her hair air-dry, before tugging on Scott's arm, "Come on, hon. The kids are gonna get up soon, and I want pancakes before then." She gave her husband a smile, and a quick kiss on the lips before they exited their bedroom.
The couple got into the kitchen, Scott heading immediately for the pots and pans, knowing that his wife was already upset at the lack of time he had been spending with her lately. Today though, he promised himself that he would take special care of her. Breakfast, then some time with just the two of them. Outside before the weather started getting too cold.
Jean smiled as she watched Scott busy himself with the pots and pans, turning on the TV to the Today show to try and catch up on a little bit of news. She sat down at the island in the center of the kitchen, across from where Scott was mixing up some pancake batter. She peeked into the bowl, "More then that, you have to at least pretend like your gonna cook for the kids too. They can't all fend for themselves."

It had been a long night. Dreams of death, despair, and lonliness plagued the wild one as he figured it was time to quit trying to sleep and just go get something to eat. Not that sleep played a huge part in his body's needs, but it was nice to be able to at least shorten a few days when he had the chance.
And of course, the one person he didn't want to see was right there in the kitchen. Along with one of the few people he enjoyed talking to. It was a bit of a mixed bag of emotions. But for the moment, he wouldn't say a word. He just headed for the fridge, and pulled out a carton of orange juice, taking it with him to the counter before swiging a couple of jugs. Claiming that carton clearly for himself.
His eyes never ventured towards Jean, nor Scott for that matter. He tried to act as if they weren't even there as he thought about what he could make himself to eat. Probably just something quick and simple to get out of there all the faster. He put the carton down, and reached down to get a couple pieces of bread. A sandwich would do, just slap on some meat, some mayo, and he'd be out of the lovely lover's way. No sense in trying to but in while ol' One eye was polluting the scene.

Jean looked up, her face bright with a smile for the newcomer, before falling when she recognized who it was. Since their argument on Saturday morning, they hadn't talked to each other much. Pretty much intentionally. Jean hadn't been interested in getting into another tiff with Logan. She sighed, running a hand through her hair, before turning to Logan and giving him a small smile, "Morning Logan." She said softly, nudging Scott across the counter.
"Yea. Morning." He said, and she shook her head in exasperation. They'd never be able to get along together. She hadn't told Scott about Saturday. She hadn't told anyone about her loosing control of her powers. Logan was still the only one who knew about that, and she'd be surprised if once the blood cooled he wouldn't ask her about it. She simply hoped that he'd have the grace to not bring it up in front of anyone. Most of all Scott.
She turned back to the TV, watching Matt and Katie playfully argue about something. She wished life was that easy. Really truly wished for a split second in time that she didn't have her abilities, and didn't have to worry about the things that she had to worry about.

Ororo had gotten a late start. Waking up with dreams, or maybe nightmares, that she couldn't quite recall in the light of day. She had figured it wasn't nightmares, as the sky was clear and if she'd been tossing about in terror there would be tell tale signs. Still, a light sheen of sweat covered her and she shook her head. Rising from bed she decided to strip it and get laundry done that day. For some reason she felt the need to clean, to wipe away the remnants that she didn't even remember from the night.
Taking a cooler shower she brushed and dried her hair, letting the tangle of waves fall over her shoulders and putting on a pair of black cotton pants and a soft grey blouse. Short sleeves, and buttoned up, she slipped on a pair of black ballet flats to finish. She hated wearing heels, especially as she towered over most anyway. Heading down to the kitchen she was only mildly surprised that no students had come in to claim their place and sugary cereal for the morning.
"Good morning Jean, Scott." She began, walking over to the cupboard and grabbing two glasses she plopped one down in front of Logan. "Logan." It was not a hint, and was not followed with any smart remark about the glasses being where they always had been. It was simply a gesture. She had gotten her own glass, and got the only other person without a glass one as well. She moved to get some milk for herself before starting for the toast. "And how did you all sleep last night?"

A small grunt was all that was really given towards Jean and Scott. Really, if he knew it would be both of them here this morning, he likely would have gone out and got himself something to eat elsewhere, something cheap and greasy. It wasn't really like he had to watch his figure any more. He could simply eat, and it'd go away within hours. Made those midnight snacks all the more sinful when he was ready to have them. Though recently, he hadn't felt much like eating.
It was a big combination of things really, starting with the happy little couple. Though he had gotten away from those little jealous feelings, it was more just a sickening little twirling inside of his gut. She let Scott think he was good enough, because he was the leader, and was the poster boy for the school. If that's all she cared about, then so be it. Though recently, he had pushed farther away from them, trying to get himself more situated in the doings of the school, and get himself more acclimated to everything else going on.
"Ro." He muttered out, finding his speech just in time as he took the glass, and poured himself a bit of milk as well. "It's nice t'have that spot out on the grounds. Don't 'ave t'listen to all the shit goin' down 'ere." His eyes didn't fall on anyone, but after their little spat, it should have been obvious who he was talking about. "Ya look good 'Ro, sleepin' better?" Small talk, and a compliment, now that it wasn't just him in here with the 'happy couple' it was a little easier to at least verbalize a few of the things going on in his head.
