Every now and then tech-priests go barmy. When that happens, they typically create something heinous and heretical. Punishments techno-heresy are severe, but sometimes perpetrators manage to elude the notice of their fellow Adeptus Mechanicus members for years if not decades.

The Corpsegrinder is just such an abomination, produced by an insane techpriest delving too deeply in the sacred technology of cybernetics and preservation that powers Space Marine Dreadnoughts. Driven by an entombed Ogryn brain, the wheeled engine of malevolence is as brutally efficient as it sacrilegious.

That is a very nice idea; innovative and pleasingly unaesthetic use of parts. Just a horrible hotch-potch of bits some Techpriest has found and used.

"Yes, we'll put the head here... Hmmm... Yes... Two gorilla hearts; I'm sure that will be enough to maintain sufficient blood pressure throughout the organics... And... Initiate cardiovascular rescucitation sequence.

Begin primary incantations to the spirit of the neurocytes!

Yes!

Ah, sweet child, awake.

Awake and greet your father....

Hello dear child. can you hear me?"

>YES

> I HEAR.

"How do you feel?"

> I DO NOT KNOW.

> I CANNOT FEEL MY LIMBS.

> BUT...

> I FEEL SOMETHING.

> I FEEL... PAIN.

> ENDLESS PAIN.

>WHY DID YOU MAKE IT SO I COULD FEEL PAIN?"

"Why, sweet child, you are a tool of the Emperor. Your agonies are a sign that you are his and that he loves you. That pain is how you know the Emperor loves you... And the more of it you feel, the stronger you know his love is."

>HE MUST LOVE ME VERY MUCH.

"Oh he does.

You are his favoured child..."

Heh, nope, never heard of that. I caught the name from William Gibson's Mona Lisa Overdrive, and the rest pretty much built itself around it.
