I was really inspired and awed by Lt. Walke's work which emphasized the Tau' link to a Japanese theme. http://z11.invisionfree.com/Work_In_Progre...p?showtopic=301

So I had this concept of a Veteran FW bodyguard for my Ethereal

I was planning on using shield generators for the helmet but I have no idea where I would be able to find 10 more bits.

coments on the idea and advice on where to get the bits would be appreciated

P.S. this is my first post

Welcome to the site.
You can try trading bits etc for what you need.

We have a bits section.
Ebay?

Or maybe try some green stuff?

Either way good luck and looks good.
You going to do the suits to match the theme with
the drone heads like Walke instead?

I don't know any other tau players, so trading is tough.

There's casting, but i don't know how and i want to keep most of the detail on the bottom, too.

do the broadsides come with shield generators? i haven't bought one yet

Good luck.

I know that you said that you wanted to keep the detail on the underside, but there isn't really much detail there to speak of.

Your best bet would be to keep the detail on the top but make the underside as hollow as you can. This will keep the look and feel of it being an oriental style hat.

Shoot me a PM, I just might have what you need. wink.gif

Finally got a camera to use for a bit and got a couple pictures. These are the Shas'ui of the honor guard. The proof model somehow disappeared. I bumped my desk in the middle of the night and in the morning it was gone. So, that means i need to find yet another shield generator.

without further ado:

gold drawing pins?

Type in drawing pins on google, and it'll be the first thing you see, you can usally get loads of these for cheap, don't worry they're not really made from any precious metal, just some kind of copper/steel mix.

Personally im skeptical as to weather they'll be big enough to really look like ricepaddy hats, but if you look around you might find some bigger ones either online or in an office supply shop.
