Hey all,

This is the first IG model for my new army - the guy in my avatar obviously! Painting time was 4 hours, which is pretty fast for me. I'm trying to make a pretty high quality tabletop IG force, so it's going to be a slow moving process. I estimate about 5 models a week (Curse you, full time job and home life!!)

I almost have an entire squad done and I'll be basing them all at once; should be done this weekend. I'll post a pic of them all then.

Nice.
I cant believe how clean and well painted he is.
But ok 4 hours. If you can sit and paint a single fig for 4 hours then you deserve him to look that nice.
Well done.

And I like how realistic he looks.
Great job.

Thanks GD. smile.gif

I spend about 3.5 hours for the average Guardsman. It's just the way I paint and I realize it's a little insane. I just can't help it because I love the results, you know? The way I see it, it's such an expensive hobby and miniatures don't come cheap, so why not put the effort into them if you can? Since I'm not rushing to get these done for a tournament and it's a relaxing part of my life, I just enjoy spending the time doing it. Come home from work, pet the dogs, kiss the girlfriend and bust out one model. smile.gif The good life.

Very nice! Really like the realism of the model. I agree it is an expensive hobby and why not spend some time making it look good. But try explaining that to some of my freinds. unsure.gif

Thanks!

There's very few GW paints here - it's mostly Reaper Master Series.

However, I still use Chaos Black, Dark Flesh, Codex & Fortress Grey, all GW metallics and inks. Since I was painting in the Cadian 8th scheme, I had to try a different brand of paint or they'd look like all the other Cadian 8th out there. smile.gif

The "Olive Green" and "Bone" color triads of paints make up the bulk of my painting.

Wow! This is serious painting! Congrats.

I can see there are already several members rightly clammering for a tutoril/guide to how you did these, I don't suppose there will be one in the not to distant future, will there?

Keep up the great work.
