A week ago, with 3 friends,we did a following of the Tarawa battle of the spring.
This time a small river was added which created a small island .
9000 pts of renegades tried to stop about 12.000pts of a mix of IG and A deptus Mechanicus. In the last battle ,the renagades had been succesful, it didn't work out that well this time .
The battle lasted a whole day at the end of which the small island was still held ,a bit of the large one too,but with our command bunker partly occupied by the Adeptus Mechanicus forces . Our losses were severe ,we had a bout 70 troops left (out of 350), the enemy had also taken a beating but was in a better position to keep attacking (on the bunker side ).
Here are the pics,enjoy :

Wow! Very well done themed table. Also I really like the landing ships. Did you have any special rules to take them out before units were deployed from them?

Hi coco ,

thks for the positive feedback ,for the landing barges ,we had a unit sheet created :
armor 14 13 120
2 structure points , open topped
and some weapons on them , .......

I designed some special rules for the swimming chimeras and the problems created for this scenario .
If you want the rules i can send them to you or post them here

cheers ,

Shannon

Yeah, there is actually a battle reports section, and I am sure this will get moved there soon enough.

But anyway, really nice table! Exactly how many chimeras did you chop in half for the landing... blink.gif

Another question; how often are you planning on playing out that particular scenario? While I love themed tables, ones with limited utility often seem to me to be a bit of a waste. Lots of resourced dedicated to their creation, and lots of storage space but not a whole lot of use. Then again, who am I to talk... I'm the dude building an Imperator Titan leg for scenery! lol

Hi,

the table is very flexible ,the seas parts are in 50cm by 50 cm squares and can be rearranged in diffeent ways , the sand is also very easy to work with.
Next battle will be a fight behind the defensive belt, with the renegades counter attacking with tanks .

Are Chimeras not amphibious anymore? When did that happen?
