ok, a little on painting, woohoo... so last you saw i had this... and a little closer... but i neglected to say anythign about how itwent from grey and white plastic, to slightly weathered out truck... well, surprisingly simple, i sprayed it black... then added dark flesh, beastial, and orange stippling... witch will get you to how my trailer is... you only add the weathering where you need it eventualy, if it was going to be really old and nastly, i probably would have airbrushed it.. then you take a sponge and place your liquid mask, inmy case i'm using 'mould builder' liquid latex, because it's what i have and it works... then i airbrushed it shadow grey, then ultra then something lighter i can't recall... then you about removing the latex, and viola, chipped paint... there is still a lot to do, but it's really an easy step to get chipped paint on whatever, did the same on the necron in fact... if you want to do weathering and whatnot, i sugest this book and for a few of my ork fans, here is a bomma i worked on, and planto get back to soon enough...

liquid green stuff...
amazing, and crappy, all at once...
great for little join lines, and minorgap filling...
bad for deep gaps.
i've been trying to remove some lines from the crons, takes me several coats to fill the line... then when doing somethign esle, with water, it actualy expanded in the place... i would justforget it, but it's halfdone and i'm not buying anew command barge... i'll have to figure something out for the other stuff...

So, yet another topic not really involving painting directly. Here i have my travel box. This thing is about 15 years old. Its obviously just an old tackle box. What i used to use it for, my paints and bitz... Yes, thats how old it is, everything i used to own and do model wise was in that box!!! Now, its my travel kit, what goes in it changes per need. A few weeks ago it held necron parts for buildig and or converting, while it still has a few, it mostly holds the stuff im using for base building, when i was painti g dante, it had what i needed for that. So, why... Well i try to go to the gw store every week or so, mostly just to get out of the house, bu i also comes in handy for going out in the back yard. Sure if i want to do somehing besides. Ases i have to repack it all, but generaly i dothings for a while at a time.

Planning anything on an ork stuff? You don't have to Btw, it looks good to me, only have to refine it with a brush for the details, and chippings, and add a little "rust like" texture to the rusty parts. And after all, You could airbrush a light layer of dust, or add it with a wash. I really like this vehicle, keep it up!

Nice cabinet, especially with the nice models and trophies Hopefully you get new trophies there soon. The paint work on the truck is looking good to me as well. It's something that I had in mind for my own ork vehicles... blue and rust, that is. Since I don't own airbrush (although this might change in early summer, as I hope to receive some extra €€€ from a secondary job assignment) my plan was to paint the vehicles with following manner: brown basecoat from a can, then sponge on basic blue, fade it with lighter shade(s) and then add orange and rust effects. Last but not least the details. Nice to see you are not stopping BW. Cheers, LvK

I need to get a new pic, as I now have my Wazdakka back and sitting in front of his trophy:)
yea, my orks are deathskull lootas, so lots of blue, but as is great with orks, the blues don't even have to match. the only thing i havn't doen was i planned to make a few paneles other colors, of not just all rust on some of them, witch i can fix easy enough, but if i would have pre planned i could have done it with the airbrush in seconds...
i've also picked up some weathering powders that i've been playing with as well... but it's been a slow few weeks, trying to get some work done o my necron bases, but family life and getting killed in MW3 is occupying my time:) i'm hoping to actualy finish the cron bases this week.

Ok... lets paint! I'm going to show 2 things, a base, for my crons, and a scythe, for my crons.... both are going to be painted the same basic way, with diffrent colors of course... (this may take a while, depending on how things go... first we start with the base, here, primed black step number 2 is to air brush it silver then, i airbrush on a coat of sepia wash (actualy i used the shade from the new set) on the base i actualy did a little devlin mud as well to test something.... and thats where it is now... next up i begin some weathering...

Wouldn't you be better off painting some Necrons instead? Paint on your hands would kinda make for a messy Doom Scythe

So is that a tattoo on your arm or just a lot of procrastination from painting?

But BW, we've been following your blog with suh intrest, what happened! (yea right) Nothing happened:) built and painted a 1500ish point necron force and have been doing some other odds and ends... came real close to starting another SM army... then the chaos codex hit at $50, the digital version at $50... i descided i didn't feel like droping lots of money on gw... i've been working on a space hulk comminsion... but i'm finaly almost done with the nids... after that i've descided to start work on a baneblade (that i've had since it first came out) so i'll blog the building and more the painting of that... i may do other bits whie it's going... then i plan to do my titan, and again, probably build and paint other things whilt that's going... so basicaly, it's bac to learning the skills, and working on making kick [I Swear Too Much] minis again!
