With Games Workshop's change to resin from pewter came an irresistible urge to convert a Skulltaker to riding a Juggernaut. The Finecast resin made it quite easy to do some serious cutting on the model and the major conversion work is done. Here's a work in progress photo after major conversion work was completed. Now to add a few embellishments and paint this nasty daemon!

Nice... I wouldn't mind seeing some other angles on that beauty.

I confess to having the same thoughts, as I currently have a ST and jugger sitting by waiting for the treatment, but I'm not looking forward to dealing with the metal. I've been debating about what pose to use, but again the metal makes this mental block against just getting in there and cutting to try things out.

Do you have any pics of the cuts and changes you made?

I dunno why peole are so afraid of working metal...

Yes its true if everything was plastic it would be easyer, but its not something impossible to do.

Look at how i did my Skulltaker:

It took me 20 minutes to cut off the legs and change them, and 10 minutes to find a proper left hand in my bits box and glue it,so that he could use his rigth hand to steer the mount.

And fully painted, click the photo for a larger image at the source gallery. This is nice and lightweight thanks to the plastic Juggernaut and new Finecast Skulltaker.

I quite agree, many of my conversions are from metal models. Its harder, not impossible.

Excellent work here. I especially love the effect on the sword.
