Alien Commander + Dead Human Trooper, 54mm

Hi everybody.

Finally, after more than two years of modifying the original figure, this is how it turned to. It's the first mini I ever sculpted from point zero, so it's a pleasure to have the final version in my hands now and be able to share. At the end I sculpted a dead body as a complement to use in the base.

The 'Alien commander' is 56mm tall, 54mm to the eyes, 1:32 scale, so it's suitable for game use or just for display aither. 'Dead human trooper' is sculpted to fit that scale too.

Maybe it could be used as a statue in scenography works for the regular scale 30mm wargame miniatures.

I have some casts of this miniature, casted in high quality white metal. Note that there are various assembly options and I just showed some examples.

I just wanted to share the amazing work done by the spanish miniature painter Fran García "Damek" on one of my "Alien Commander" models, allowing him to obtain a Silver in the Golden Demon contest in Spain the past July 2011, in category "Large Scale Model". Pretty sure its actualy against the rules of the golden demons to enter a sculpt that isnt gw, fw or scratch built... In this case your sculpt, his paint job.

Scratch built by me, painted by him, he gets a price for his awesome work. No contest rules infringed, it seems easy to understand...

I'm really sorry, I hate to say this but that is most definitely against the rules for Golden Demon:

"All entries must be personally handed in by their creator and registered
at Games Day on the day. We will not accept any entries on behalf of
competitors who are not in attendance at the event. All entries must be
collected from the show stands at specified times by the entrant in
person. These times will be published in the Games Day program and
will be announced over the PA system on the day. All models should be
the work of a single hobbyist. All work on models entered into the
Golden Demon including but not limited to painting, modelling,
converting, after-market sculpting, and basing must be performed
entirely by the entrant. Neither models obtained from someone else in
any state of completion nor collaborative efforts may be entered.
Anyone found violating this rule will be immediately disqualified and
forbidden from entering future Golden Demon painting
competitions."

If the model was sculpted by you but painted by somebody else then it has broken the rules. This was introduced a while ago to prevent teams entering, who would have several members work on one model which was deemed unfair.

However, that aside, your sculpt is lovely, and I look forward to seeing some of the variant options (helmet etc).

On a note of caution though I would be wary of advertising if you're selling them though, as it's pretty obvious it's a Tau Fire warrior..

What he said, unless isst painted by you its breakingthe gd rules... Just thought you'de like to know in case his demon gets taken away for that, and you both get banned for life... (dunno if its happened for this rule but definatly for entering somone elses mini, so i wouldnt be to shocked if it did happen)

Aside from all the hullaballoo, it's a beautiful model!
