Section 1.0
WIP Staff Administration Procedures

1.1 Rules violations may be handled in the following manner

1st time = member is personally mailed an informal warning from a moderator or admin notifying you of your rules breach
2nd time = first formal warning (these are tracked by the WIP Staff)
3rd time = temporary suspension
4th time = permanent ban

1.2 Note that the WIP Moderators and Administrators may or may not personal message (PM) you as they take actions on any rules violations. If we decide that the infraction is serious enough, we reserve the right to act as we see fit.

1.3 I (Greydeath) and people I trust (Admins and Moderators) run the site so if I or any of us come to the conclusion that you act in a negative manner and do not actually make what we define as contributions to the site, you may not last long here. Essentially this means act in a courteous and respectful manner when you are posting on WIP, see "Respectful Behavior". Our posters will be judged if necessary by their works or on the quality of their feedback and their help provided to others with their projects on WIP.

1.4 Any decision made by any Mods or Greydeath is final. No amount of moaning or whining will reverse what has been done, although appeals are permitted if you feel you have been grossly mishandled. Abuse directed at the Admins or Moderators will not be tolerated and will only result in your account being locked and/or deleted.

1.5 Do not try and “be a mod” by telling posters if they are in violation of the rules. You can contact any of the mods or admin via PM or hit the report button if you think someone has done something that is against the WIP rules. We appreciate the information and from there we will take appropriate action.

1.6 The WIP rules may change with little or no formal notice.

1.7 Any problems, questions, etc about these rules can be directed at Greydeath or the WIP Moderators.

Section 2
Copyright and Copying Rules

2.0 WIP aka this site, mostly concerns Games Workshop products so you, the membership, cannot copyright any of their material.

2.1 Do not copy or cross post to another forum anyone’s posts or their work without their permission first.

2.2 Posting material on WIP which is copyrighted and without permission from the author is strictly prohibited. Posts containing such material will be deleted without notice and will incur a verbal, informal warning. Further infractions will follow the disciplinary route as described (WIP Staff Administration Procedures). This especially concerns asking for / posting / offering scans of information printed in any Games Workshop publications. This includes White Dwarf, Army Codex, Rulebooks or any similar Games Workshop related published articles. This includes breakdowns of VDR (GW's Vehicle Design Rules).

2.3 Posting photos of cast parts, molds of models or anything that was cast is forbidden on WIP. This rule includes paper templates of GW models and figs or templates of GW models and figs. Also, no posting of exact measurements in an attempt to allow others to build their own copies of GW models and figures etc. without purchasing them. GW is not the only company this applies to, it is the most common one, there are others of course. They are included in this prohibition.

2.4 Images of unprimed castings, unless they are the custom, personal creations of the poster will be removed from site as soon as they are found by us. Please understand that it is our intention to avoid any litigation from any companies who rightly have a vested interest in protecting their creative works.

2.5 We realize that as modelers, converters and hobbyists that many people may have projects that conflict in some ways with the above stipulations, or perhaps fall into a gray area, as we cannot define every instance of what is correct. There will be times when judgment is needed. Contact a moderator or admin if you are unsure if your project falls outside of these parameters. We will adjudicate the work and PM you.

2.6 No cracks for Army Builder! If you ask for or give a crack or a link to a crack for Army Builder, you will be banned immediately with no appeal.


Section 3
Formatting Rules

3.0 Any graphic that is directly linked, i.e. formatted to be visible using the IMG tag must be no larger than 700x700 pixels. Please be reasonable with regard to size, taking into consideration download times for low bandwidth posters. If we see the image is too large, we will convert it into a link. If you don't know how large a given image is, right click on it and look at 'properties", it will tell you.

3.1 Be original with your forum avatar. Some people don't bother with names, instead identifying posters by means of their avatar. This can get a little confusing if two or more people share the same image. We would be appreciate if you try to make your avatar your own and distinct from everyone else. Avatars are not to contain an animated gif or movie of any kind and should have a 15k size limit.

3.2 You may have up to one signature banner no larger than 100 pixels tall and 600 pixels wide or 4 lines of medium sized text or a combination of both. No flash movies, but one animated gif is allowed (smilies are ok).

3.3 Multiple accounts for the same individual are not permitted. If the WIP finds any person with multiple accounts who does not have a good reason for them, all of their accounts will be blocked. If you can recall your forum handle, your password can be emailed to you if you have forgotten it, don't just open a new account.

3.4 Spam is a nuisance and members who engage in spamming will get their spamming post edited with a warning or an additional post from the staff made in the thread the spam is in. Spam includes (but is not limited to) inconsequential posts, which have no relevance, for example replying with 'yeah' or 'I know', 'shut up', "cool" etc.

3.5 Please post the right topics into the right forums. Painting IG related posts go into PIP IG, for instance. If you have accidentally posted a topic in the wrong forum, it will be moved to the right place, try to keep this from happening though.

3.6 Please do not post any advertisements without first asking me (Greydeath) if it's appropriate. When you PM me, please provide a link if applicable so I can preview what you are advertising.

3.7 Being a member of WIP and posting images of your work on WIP is an implied agreement that WIP has the right to use your images as the owner of WIP, Greydeath sees fit to use them (usually for advertising purposes). When possible your work will be credited. In all cases we will seek the poster's permission to use the images.

Section 4
Respectful Behavior on WIP

4.0 Be mindful that our members are from all over the world so try to be considerate of them when you post here, keep your words simple and understandable. Please do not discredit or otherwise bring into contention the beliefs or ideals of any religious or political group.

4.2 This board is a friendly and fun site, so WIP will not tolerate bullying and offensive behavior towards others.

4.3 We are a secular and non-political board. Don’t post about race, color, sex or sexual preference, post photos of pornographic material or links to them on WIP. We take violations of this type very seriously.

4.4 Don't try to elude the WIP forum filters. This includes asterisking letters and similar methods of disguise, such as s**t, 5h!t, etc. Also, ‘leetspeak’ is a nuisance which is difficult for members who do not speak English as their native language and excessive use of it will be considered an offense. Just because you may be used to expressing yourself in a certain way does not mean that the same rules apply here. We have filters for reasons that, even if you do not agree with them, you should nonetheless respect.

4.5 If you know a better technique or have a tip, please help the fellow member with a kind and courteous response to their posts. Our posters are here to have constructive discourse on their hobby. It is what WIP exists for.

4.6 It is fine to have a different viewpoint on a given issue and state that in a public thread in a constructive manner. However, don't ruin the thread with your own personal agenda and lead the thread off topic.

4.7 If you have a disagreement with someone, use to PMs to resolve your issue with the other member. Many disagreements are spawned from misunderstandings. A friendly PM can go a long way to resolving one.

4.8 Opening old topics (threadomancy) is allowed on WIP. If you have a relevant question or you have made an update, feel free to bring a thread back from the dead. Do not "bump" a thread (bumping is pushing a thread to the top with non-informative post for no other reason than to get it back to the top of the list).

Section 5
Violations and Bans.

5.0 Any violation of the above is subject to punishment by a meltagun blast at 6 inches, a giant thump with a club, exposure to Barry Manilow music, outright suspension and/or banishment from the WIP universe.
