Hi All,

I haven't been on in months what with moving, and Christmas, and getting ready for Adepticon, but things have finally calmed down so here we go again.

I picked up an Eldar Scorpion II Tank while i was at Adepticon. My army is Sam-hann. Normally I paint my vehicles a nice bright red with black stripes and some Sam-Hann snake markings. For the Scorpion II Super Heavy tank, I decided to do something different and reverse some of the color scheme to go mostly white with only some red markings. I really like how this turned out and thought I would have a nice large space up from for art work/markings and the like but now I am stumped as to what to put there.

Here is the base tank almost finished painting.

And below are some photoshopped ideas conveniently numbered. Let me know which ones you like and why or feel free to grab the above pic and design your own and post it. Any impute is welcome as I am totally stumped on how i want to proceed on this one. None of my ideas are really grabbing me as something worthy of this awesome machine of destruction.

Thanks,

I have to say it's between 1,3,5
But I think 1 is the best myself

I'd say a combo of the front fins from 1 and the rear fins from 5.

I have to say I quite like 2 myself sad.gif

There's something pleasing about the offset detail

Cool, thanks for all the responses guys!

1, 3, and 5 seem to be popular.

I like Savayan's idea of the front fins from 1 and the back fins form 5. Separating off that infinity like symbol on the back fins gives more room to play with on the front ones, and the snake in 1 is one I hand drew as appose to copy and pasting the symbols for an exact match.

Still thinking, still might try a few more ideas.

I've got to second this. We might be the only ones who like number 2, though, ha!

The asymmetry is refreshing, and I think it kind of highlights the sleekness of the tank.

I do like this one. my main problem is with placing the symbol properly. As is, the eye and mouth are off the tank and take away from understanding what it is supposed to be. If i make it bigger, it is unrecognizable, if i make it smaller it will just simply fit on the tank and not be off set.

Maybe I'll mess around with trying to fit it on in a slightly different position or size.

Maybe try using the size from #1

I think borrowing the size and layout from 1, but using it asymmetrically would work. It might also look neat to use the graphic from 5, but only mark one forward wing and the opposite rear wing.

It might also look nice to only stripe one cannon barrel, either banded as your images show, or with one stripe running the length of the barrel along the top.

(I'm a sucker for asymmetric designs.)

So, taking in some of the comments and ideas, how about something like this.

Maybe not all the markings, and not exactly those, i was just playing around with how some different Eldar text like markings would look.

7 looks good but IMO it could use something on the other side for some balance

I like 7 a lot, though I think striping the other barrel instead would balance it a little. I think that, and moving the lettering(?) from the three-paned winglet to the other side would even it all out. It would give one side of the craft the larger, more sweeping markings, while the other would have the sharper stripes and lettering.

Have to say I was a fan of 2 as well. Option 7 is not bad though. Perhaps moving the rear fin marking to the other side would balance it a little. Not a fan of the stripes on the turret. A bit too piano key.

Cheers!
