Next project on my workbench:
tracked heavy artillerie for the Death Korps of Krieg
user posted image

As You can see itīs very early WIP ( Iīm still sorting out some desigen flaws...)

Not sure if it sould be simmilar to the Basilisk, or something more powerfull.
Itīs a diorama project that will include two of these guns. The first one in traveling position, the second one ready to fire.
There will be also one (or may be two Scratch.gif ) support vehicles.
An ammunition carrier, towing some kind of trailer.

Looks like a Stug on steroids....
Based on the Shadowsword kit, yes? The citadel is very similar. wink.gif

I like that idea... biggrin.gif

Nope, will be completely scratchbuild...
Because itīs an artillerie pice, the gun can be elevated (ca. 45-50°) , unlike the one in the Shadowsword.

Oh!
This looks like a brilliant idea.
looking at the rear ramp, it opens one half down, one up? Do you plan to use the upper half like a roof when it's connected to the ammo vehicle?

Oh this has really huge potential.
I'll watch this one closely thumbs_up.gif
Great
Cheers

It is a long range artillery, so why not to include a pivoted turret? The fist scetch reminds me about heavy armored assault gun, not the one supposed to lobe shells from far far away.

If it is long range artillery it needs to be able to raise the barrel to a high angle of elevation. At the moment you have designed a tank destroyer.

I tend to disagree wink.gif
If you look closely at the sketch, you recon that the roof of the turret is cut quite far back, allowing the gun to be raised very high (once out of the travel lock).
Also, if you look for instance at the Russian PION system, no "very long range" artillery really needs a rotatable turret ....
Pion on Wiki
PION on Enemyforces
...as the shell travels way longer than the gun needs to reposition itself lmao.gif

The 2S7 has the longest range of fire comparing with any other modern field artillery unit. It is able to fire and leave position before projectile hits target.

Exactly!
The lower door will also have some kind of build in steps for the crew.

The tank in firing possition will have a complete interior, while the moving one will be more simplyfied.
Because of the shell size, the firing tank will have a roller conveyor to handle the ammunition.

Redram, awesome! As for being superheavy, if the Minotaur and the Macalador count, then this should for sure. Can we get some group shots of all you have?
