Hi, this is my first sculpt, it is approx. 1 year old, so some of you may know it. I sculpted wings and let someone mould them for me. I converted hormagaunts to gargoyles.

For that I cut the body apart and added a second arm-pit for the wings as well as another chitin plate. Here it is:

Didn't think I'd ever say this about a Tyranid, but those are beautiful!

The wing sculpts are great. Wish something like that was readily available in resin as putting metal wings on plastic figures is a loss.

They are almost too pretty to be nids I can imagine the guard all looking up in awe as the purple cloud descends and the last word Sgt Meyers utters is "They are beautiful....ARRRRG!"

Thanks for the comments, as for the availability, I am currently thinking about ordering a second lot, I am currently in negotiations with a second company, because the first was good, but quite expensive.

@ShutUdown: thanks for fixing!

Cheers,

Just a note, if getting your wings is fairly expensive, the rumor is that 'nids are finally going to get plastic gargoyles this Jan.

Figured that knowledge might influence your decision.

I figured as much seeing as how they kinda disappeared from the online shop.

How certain is this rumor?

I also heard that they would not come

Well I hope it happens. Plastic is so much more convenient for conversions, and even more so for 'nids.

Those conversions are quite nice. I was thinking of doing similar down the line because I wasn't too interested in the price of all those blister packs for a whole brood.
