Well, I had a boring weekend so I thought why not build and paint some new models. Or should I say old/new models. I got my hands on a pack of Catachans for half the original price at the local toy- store. So it was a "must buy" in my sense. So I mixed in som other stuff: like som spare Cadian bits and pieces and a banner from the Chaos Space Marine sprue. And voila! Some nice Traitors!
With a basecoat of brown. And with some other basic paint, just the next step. There are still some work to be done here.
Not to forget, "the Flamer-from-Hell"

Looking good. The dragon headed flamer is a nice touch.Green and tan colors are good too. Are they just renegades or are they the chaos worshipping freaks?

Well, they are chaos worshippers. Most of the colours so far is just the foundation. The green pants are going to get a lighter green colour, I might do some camo-pattern but I'm not so good at that. The one with the flamer will get a more "devil-ish" red look. I was going for a smaller dragonhead on the flamer but I had already used the smaller ones on a different project.

another boring weekend and another coat of paint on my traitors...
The whole ugly squad. Hellboy with the flamer has turned a bit more red since the last time. And some green eyes... The squadleader... I'm pleased with the banner, as allways it looks better in real life...
There's still some detail work left to do and the bases need some sand, but that have to wait until I get bored again

Ah! after a bit of downtime from WIP I'm back with some more Traitors. Reading about the Vraksian conflict realy inspired me into build and paint some more traitors. I combined a box of Warhammer Imperial Militia with some Cadian and Catachan spareparts. The result was a quite interresting gang of militiamen. Renegade militiaman with a meltagun. I also had a box of Warhammer Ogres that I made some green-stuff adjustments on. There are four of them, but I have only started painting two of them right now. The Renegades also needed some heavy supportweapons, here's a Heavy Bolter with crew. More Renegade support!

I'll be totally frank: that is one of THE most inspired uses of a Havoc Launcher that I have ever seen! I'm definitely borrowing that idea when it comes to building my Whirlwind Hyperios!

O dear buttery goodness! I so know what I am doing to use for artillery support for my Guard! Add another one to make it longer and you got yourself a quad launcher!

I think quite a few Guard regiments are going to be receiving quad launchers in the near future

Since I got my hands on the latest IG codex I got a bit inspired to make something of these Chaos militiamen I had stashed away for some time now. So I added some more troops to the mix and with a litle luck it will all become the backbone of my new Traitor Guard army.
Right now there are two squads of these. To make up the backbone of one of the two infantry platoons I'm working on. I opted not to add any mutated stuff and daemonheads, or stuff like that, to these ones. They will get some Chaos marking on the armor and some tattoos. The mutations are reserved for the Veterans that I'm planning to build in the next stage of the project. A bit of a closeup on the Sgt from the second squad of the platoon.
I also added another Heavy weapons team. With the other two allready in place (the heavy bolter crew and the converted Havoc launcher), the three of them will fit into one of the platoons.
I also wanted to mix in more Warhammer Fantasy bits into the army so I built 20 Conscripts from a pack of Zombies. Right now this one is my favorite Zombie-Conscript.
These two are going to be standardbearers for the first and second platoon. I'm also working on some veterans and grim "medics" for the platoon command squad and the Company HQ. I will also have to redo some of the old ones, like the Ogryns - that I styled after the Vraks-list. I'll have to redo their weapons and add some Ripper-guns to them - But that's a later project... Painting will continue and I'll try and update this one a bit more often than I've done in the past!

yeah, the militia pieces are ok, the only thing is the pants - so tightfitting (!) But the heads and the torsos with the coats are very nice, it gives the impression that they are a mob that just got their hands on some more advanced weapons than they use to have.
Right now I'm aiming at building a Veteran squad, with some mutations mixed in with some catachan parts and some Rough Riders converted from some Warhammer Chaos Marauder Horsemen. But I have to finish the Zombie-conscripts first and the HQ-squad.

A bit of an update on my Renegade IG army. First of some Veterans: Heavy flamer trooper, the squad also contains two regular flamers that I don't have any pictures of just yet.
Vox-Caster and Veterans armed with shotguns.
An "undead" sniper.
And finaly an Auto Cannon Heavy weapons team.
These are all still painting in progress. I've been splitting myself between too many projects right now. But I will try and finish the details a bit at a time. Right now a second Veteran squad and a Psyker Battle squad are lined up and ready for painting.

Lovin them evil cadians with the studded shoulder pads, the grim shades of colour along with them shoulder pads remind me of the gobalins from the movie Labyrinth
What did you use for the shoulder pads?? I wana steal your idea :P

All the extra armour on the Vets are made from GF9 "Grey Stuff". And the studds are made from rolled up "Grey stuff" that I cut in apropriate sized pieces and glued into place.
