The Tau C.A.M.S. is their latest upgraded Android to help
the Fire Warriors.
The CAMS are Combat Android Missile Systems.
They can go where Fire Warriors go. Small low profile hard to shoot
but very bulky and able to carry a massive payload of Smart Missiles.

The CAMS can stay behind cover and launch volley after volley of smart
missiles at the enemy.
Making the CAMS very deadly on the battlefield.

They are slow and combursome but they dont need to do much once in
cover they just stay there and support their Fire Warrior squad.
Adding the much needed fire power to the Fire Warrior Squad.

Kind of looks like it came from Heavy Gear. Don't think its Battletech.
I duhnno, all those mecha type games blend together after a while.

Looks good, you didn't pick an obvious mini so it stays generic enough to work as tau.

Great use of different bitz
I like the part where you say what it is, and what it does,
adds some extra flavour to it all!

Great GD!

Doesn't look Heavy Gear (No secondary movement system - wheels/tracks) on the 'heels'.

Could be CAV by reaper, though.

Nice work, whatever the source material.

I did another and added a small head.
I did not have enough of these small heads to do to many
so I tried it on just one.

Doesnt make it look much different just heads on top looking
to get shot off.
I did add a secondary system a shield gen onto the new guys back.
No pics yet.

Anyways ya just a random old metal fig from back in the day.
I bought 2 of them.

I wish I had bought more.

It is from Heavy Gear I think. I believe it is a "Frame." Or rather Earth's answer to all those Gears they had to fight. Because mutant infantry and tanks only go so far.

i think putting segmented armour on the front of the thighs would really tie it in to the tau range and finish the model. it definetly looks like an android, not a varient battlesuit. with some railguns it'd make a great broadside proxy in a drone army. [think i may have to steal this idea if i ever get round to doing tau again]

I think they are too small for broadsides.
The old Heavy Gear figs pre 1990 where large and with some added
armor etc might have worked better.
But these smaller scale guys are well only the size of a fire warrior.

Ans an android I like it.
Not a suit.
Segmented armor... hm if only I could sculpt.

sad.gif

And mortis I will give you that you did also say heavy gears.

I just look at things and go hey I can use that.
And I do.
I just like mech looking stuff especially for tau.

Looks good but the heads a wee bit to small. Is it a heavy support choice? and for the rules slow+purposful?

From the front the head is small but its long and goes back into the body.
I used the stock head from the original model on my other one I made
a head from the sensor.
Its bigger and I like it better.

As for rules not sure.
3 in a squad as a heavy choice but can be taken in with a troop squad
and must maintain unit cohesion.

Something like that I would like to see.
