| Well, as promised, here are the shots of my stormtrooper unit. I've also posted a WIP shot of one of them, but I can post some more.

| I LOVE the skull head !!
really nice, I've never think that necrontyr heads could be compatible with IG
|Posted by: D_Arquebus Aug 3 2009, 11:17 AM|
| Yes, this is a very nice idea. And well implemented.
Nice job bulking out the very thin Necron Heads with the "Gasmask" nozzles.
Question though, are those guns from PigIron? Or is it just a shaved down Lasgun with plasticard additions? Nice look either way.
|Posted by: nugy Aug 3 2009, 11:21 AM|
| wow love what you have done here the guns simply looks fantastic and the heads are just [I am truly drowling right now]
love to see more!
|Posted by: Klaus, not Santa Aug 3 2009, 12:37 PM|
| stunning conversion!
I love the Necron helmets
not sure about the rifles...the barrel looks a bit tiny...but the result is really great!
How long do you need per conversion? Is it suitable for mass use?
|Posted by: maxxev Aug 3 2009, 12:40 PM|
see the first picture
|Posted by: jdteixeira Aug 3 2009, 01:12 PM|
I thought about that, the barrell thing, but they looked too weird with thicker plasticard. They looked closer to giant shotguns of doom than assault rilfes.
It takes about 1 hour or less for each. The longest part is the construction of each gun.
|Posted by: WarInHeaven Aug 3 2009, 01:24 PM|
| if i can get some necron heads from a friend, i'm so gona 'borow' that idea...
|Posted by: jdteixeira Aug 3 2009, 01:27 PM|
Go ahead. Let me just give you a piece of advice. Before you glue the heads, you-ll need to flesh out their neck. The necron heads have no neck.
|Posted by: lord of the guns Aug 3 2009, 01:43 PM|
Your Stormtroops look like "Combines" in Half Life 2
|Posted by: jdteixeira Aug 3 2009, 01:53 PM|
Hehehe, never looked at it that way, but now that you mention it, they kinda do!
|Posted by: Tema69 Aug 3 2009, 02:56 PM|
| Stunning! Absolutely stunning. They look like Inquisitorial Death Squads or something similarly grimdark!
The Assault Rifles are very... assaultrifleish? Which is good, because the regular Autoguns look way too much like a lasgun. Also, their size are way more realistic, and the guns make them look very 'elite'. They remind me of the HK33 or 53.
I might have to find a way to include something similar in my guards... *contemplating possibilities*
|Posted by: MrBigMr Aug 3 2009, 03:11 PM|
| Well, you can consider your idea stolen. I have been looking for a head for my stormies for some time now, and this is more than perfect. I can even use those Destroyer heads for special weapons guys.
Other than that, they rock donkey balls. The guns are a bit more real world than grimdark 40K. Maybe beefier muzzles would have helped. Now they remind me a little too much of some H&K stuff, that's just me. Stunning work non the less.
|Posted by: jdteixeira Aug 3 2009, 03:54 PM|
Hmmm... Never thought of that, the Destroyer heads thingie.
Gonna use that idea for some special weapons.
|Posted by: fabricador Aug 3 2009, 04:41 PM|
| excelent job mate!!!!!!!!!! they are like the caracters of the army of two!!!!
|Posted by: Blood Raven Aug 3 2009, 05:02 PM|
Thank you so much for putting these up!
I am at a loss ... I am drooling! Thanks again for sharing!
|Posted by: jdteixeira Aug 3 2009, 09:45 PM|
No problem, man.
@ fabricador: About the Army of two characters, I actually converted one of the characters (the one with the heavier armor) from the game for my rag tag veterans units (formerly known as Last Chancers). Since the codex changed, I had to form two units of veretans with them.
|Posted by: Anarnaxe Aug 3 2009, 09:58 PM|
| Those are really nice Stormtroopers, certainly sinister enough for 40K. Just wondering, what did you do for the kneepads, as the majority of the body looks Cadian.
Some sweet conversions, and I wouldn't be surprised if we see more of these guys appearing on the forum. Actually, they might form the core of my next Guard army.....Dammit, thats my next force picked then.
Anyway, thanks for sharing with us.

| nice work, i did something like this a few months ago never got around to painting them.
|Posted by: jdteixeira Aug 3 2009, 11:20 PM|
I've sculpted them, as well as the leg armour and gauntlets. I've used Procreate, which is a grey epoxy putty, so it isn't very noticeable
|Posted by: jdteixeira Aug 3 2009, 11:22 PM|
Awesome stormies, and way faster to build than mine :P
|Posted by: shadowhammer Aug 3 2009, 11:25 PM|
|Seconded, this is stolen. Now I have a suitable reason to start hacking up my Vets.|
|Posted by: Gran the Slayer Aug 4 2009, 06:35 AM|
|Hey Man Realy great job so far nice idea with the necron heads|
|Posted by: lone dirty dog Aug 4 2009, 08:25 AM|
|Love the look of these nice mix with the forge world IG model as well,. like the fact you beefed them seen some done before but did not look right but these look great. Just one thing have you got a pic of them from the back to see what the head looks like that would be so helpful for when i still this idea cheers...............|
|Posted by: Canis Aug 4 2009, 08:41 AM|
i was actually thinking that earlier today
I've actually used a Necron head on my commander but instead I shaved it down and stuck it into one of those empty cadian helmets and I cut the bottom jaw off, i like yours more though. I think I will attempt a veteran unit with Necron heads now.

| you know what would tie the beret guy with the others better?
a skull face tatoo like, the one shown in the armegeddon ork hunter sketches
|Posted by: jdteixeira Aug 4 2009, 05:55 PM|
That would be awesome, but unfortunately the sarge has a blonde 'stash and a face tatoo might look weird, but i'll keep that one in the box for my next squad of those :P
|Posted by: Nibbles, The Destroyer Aug 5 2009, 06:00 AM|
|Wow. Nice storm troopers. Currently planning up Elisyan Drop conversion army. Needed some suggestions, this looks like a promising probability.|
|Posted by: Caiin Aug 5 2009, 07:33 AM|
| Great conversions and nice paint job!
I still need a band of 10 troopers and I might use this idea as well. Necron heads... genius.
|Posted by: lone dirty dog Aug 7 2009, 08:11 AM|
I think now you seen the backs (thanks for the pic look great by the way) the beret guy has the mask hanging from his belt witch ties it in more than enough. I think i will have to steel this idea aswell they just look to fantastic not too, thanks for the inspiration....................
|Posted by: Sgt.Carmine Aug 15 2009, 11:26 PM|
| WOW man thats quite simply one of the greatest IG conversions I've ever seen and the paintings fonominal. Love the Army of Two feel. How long you've been in the hobby for.
G3 autoguns I presume?
Have you made or are you thinking of making a veteran with his mask up if so I can't wait to see it.
A heavy weapons team would be awesome...
|Posted by: jdteixeira Aug 16 2009, 11:53 PM|
I've been in the hobby for about 5 or 6 years.
Yup, the intention was to build a g3 lookalike for his guns. 7.62 full metal jacket ammo is more likely to have AP3 than pansy overcharged lasers :P
The idea for the stormie with the mask up is quite interesting and might be the conversion i'll make for the final stormtrooper of the squad
|Posted by: acide Aug 18 2009, 06:20 AM|
| Únorme !!!
i love the headskull, it's looking terror's guard, Ilove it !!
|Posted by: Grimmnar Aug 23 2009, 08:40 PM|
Liking the Necron helmets as well. Make sure they dont stick their heads around the corner to check things out. Someone may take a potshot at em thinking they are real Necons. LOL
As for the barrel comment and "giant shotgun of doom" not that there is anything wrong with shotguns i tell ya but have you see the AA12 being developed for the military?
Just a fan of auto-shotguns myself.
But keep up the good work. I really like these simple but yet really effective conversions when i see them. :-)
|Posted by: Acunnon Aug 23 2009, 09:02 PM|
| Love the Storm troopers considering there guardsmen they are rather fearsom looking love to see more of them.
On the subject of the shotgun vid, when it got to the "frag 12" round I thought 'it is a damned bolter'.
|Posted by: jdteixeira Aug 24 2009, 08:38 PM|
| That shotgun vid was awesome. That's really demoralizing, at least to be in the recieving end of it :P
It resembles the Korean USAS-12, but without the huge variety of rounds available.
I'll see if shotguns are available to stormies and, if they are, I might build a few. But most likely my veterans will be equipped with them :P
|Posted by: aoffan23 Aug 24 2009, 11:46 PM|
When Sternguard get shotguns....
|Posted by: Sgt.Carmine Aug 25 2009, 12:22 AM|
| Beastly, Thats the one word which describes the AA12...
Sadly Stormies don't have access to shotguns but hey, theres a reason why kill-teams/necromunda was invented. Also you could just make/count them as a veteran squad.
|Posted by: darkchild130 Aug 27 2009, 10:07 AM|
| Who needs shotguns when you have AP3 lasguns?
I really like your G3 style rifles, very fitting for a weapon with a lot of penetrating power.
|Posted by: Blackcell8 Aug 27 2009, 10:32 AM|
| See, the AA12 proves that one day we will have Bolters!
But those Stormtroopers look awesome, no other word for it. Although the sarge doesn't look tied in to the squad so much.
|Posted by: Sgt.Carmine Aug 27 2009, 06:55 PM|
Yes then we will invent plasma guns, then melta guns and finally the fabled lascannon (FREEEEEMM!!)
|Posted by: Valaska Aug 31 2009, 07:21 AM|
|Well your storm troopers heads are unique and awesome, congratulations!|
|Posted by: maxxev Sep 1 2009, 08:00 PM|
| I would like to dispute the unique:
However they are Awesome.
|Posted by: Gran the Slayer Sep 1 2009, 08:05 PM|
| Hey Man your Stormtroopers are realy awesome
The idea with the Heads of the necrons is a realy great solution
Maybe ih will copy it
But only witht your permission
