If you go take a look at the Imperator Titan leg I'm working on (although to be honest I haven't touched it in months), I'm using a split color scheme.
The bottom half of the leg will be blue, while the top half will be white with a golden yellow Imperial Eagle. I have already painted the knee joint, and it too is blue. Of course finding the actual colors might be difficult once I add all of the terrible damage, blast marks, and burn scars, as well as the untold centuries of rust and weathering. Obvious large mechanical bits will be in metallic and generally rusty.
I have no idea if it fits into a "standard" color scheme, but honestly, in an Imperium of on the order of a million worlds and an untold number of Forge Worlds, each of which having it's own Legia with their own individual panoply, don't really matter, do it?
As a note, I think the parts that should stand out in their use of color should be the greaves, the torso, and the head. The interconnecting bits and the weapons don't even need to be flashy color-wise. Leaving them metallic or primer grey with the appropriate weathering and damage should prove more than adequate.
But I will agree with chip; so with it as you will. This is your baby, so run with it in whatever direction tickles your fancy!

Actually I have monitored your 'Leg' thread for the past year whenever I see an update..............hint.
Since my Titan will be an active component rather than scenery/battle arena I hesitate to cover it with cancerous rust but I will take some of your technique into consideration.
Thanks for the thoughtful reply.

Is it resin or plastic? If resin, it looks like it might be from a Valkyrie/Vendetta, maybe one of the other FW flyers. If plastic, I have no clue....... (BTW, hint acknowledged)

Warlord and Thunderhawk Seats First let me thank all that responded to my query as to the origin of the cockpit seat I posted. It turns out that it is the ejector seat (empty) that is included with the FW Lightning and Thunderbolt. http://i.imgur.com/GLtcLyd.jpg Warlord and Thunderhawk Seats Besides the twin seats I made for the Warlord previously I am going to make 6 slightly oversized versions of the Lightning and Thunderbolt ejector seats for my Thunderhawk. Oversized to accomidate the rather robust SM physique. A lesson to all, don't let your ol'lady trash yer bitbox ya migjt jest need some o' that [I Swear Too Much] some day.

Windscreens Applied I know it might not seem that big a deal to some but installing windscreens on the delicate frame was a time consuming and frustrating operation. I made the panes out of 1.0 mm (0.040 inch) thick clear styrene hand shaped and sanded to a precise fit. Each panel was slightly different in shape and size than its mirror panel but none were more than 0.5 mm which made me extremely pleased. I hope the camera catches these panels I left the dust on and backlit them so they are visible. http://i.imgur.com/yFdhSqI.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kParXOz.jpg http://i.imgur.com/QEGYX7m.jpg
