(Told you I'd post up something again! ) So what do you do when you've got the family away for five days and the house to yourself, do you dilligently aim to complete some of your part projects, focus on consilidating units and squads? NO, you go into the garage, dig out all your various Adeptus Mechanicus related bits and pieces from the last 20+ years and start a new project, well that's what I do! Happy to admit that I was a bit of a 40k nut when I was a lot younger, have siginificant amounts of lead and plastic from the mid 80's up until about 2005/6. One thing that always inspired me was the Horus Heresy stuff, loved the early armour marks, the back story and the whole rogue trader dark gothic, (but without so many SKULLZtm and SPIKEZtm ). I've always seen proper heresy era projects to be more for the mature/veteran gamer, as they should have a high level of conversion and sculpting/resculpting elements, be electic, utilise knowledge and experience from other model ranges, material, background and be well executed and painted. I think that I can tick of those boxes So with that in mind I set to work pulling the threads together.

Gathering the followers of the machine god:I've had a couple of Bob Olley Ad Mech figures in my garage workshop for a while so put them to one side. Dug out my RT Imperial Guard case and found a further three servitors, (two Bob Olley ones and a very 'borg' looking one from an old GW release) and another Adeptus Mechanicus Techpriest, (first release Rogue Trader figure). Ages ago I played with a Warmachine Cryx bonethrall, added a few AD style things, coverted to a gun servitor with the use of a plasma cannon, so dug him out after sitting on the desk undercoated for at least 4 years! Raiding another storage unit I managed to find the other two from the pack, some more sevitor bits and pieces and a techseer from my IG forces to use to command a mantiple of conquerer robots, (RT era robots that saw use in my first space wolves army, subsequently stripped, dismantled and stored away). (I love those old robot sculpts personally). That just left the resin stuff so managed to local the forgeworld servo skulls, the Adeptus Titanicus Techpriest and some proxies I bought from Micro-art studios a few years back. a unit of these: and one of these: I also had a pair of kryomek hellcat legs (walker/ed209 styled) legs in my bits box and a spare plastic dreadnought misslie launcher, so with a bit of cutting, gluing and a good rummage through the box again, we now have a a missile launcher gun sevitor. Finalliy on the larger sevitor front I'd started work years ago on an Orgyn gun sevitor, using a set of tracks from an RT rapier, the main body of a 2nd editino sentinel walker, the torso of a ogryn and copius amounts of guitar springs, again another forlorn and unloved piece that sat in the garage unfinished. Well suffice to say he's almost done now so will be based and undercoated later. So with the basics pulled together I started work on the cleaning and basing. Could have easily gone for full resin bases, (Fenris sulacco style would have been idea but wanted a more martian suface as I think tech on tech has been done to death). So set to work yesterday armed with Season one of The Walking Dead on dvd as my background distraction. End of the night, all figures togther, gaps and casting issues sorted out on the resin stuff, robots built and just the larger stuff to base this morning, then when I get back from surfing this afternoon I'll undercoat it all and get cracking on the paint. No pics as my wife had the camera for the weekend but have taken a few so will post up later. Cheers Vyper

Ok so a few WIP pictures, built up and undercoated, Ogryn mocked up but will finish this weekend. Techpriests, (Bob Olley and first RT release Techpriest) and sevitors, (mixture of bob olley RT, GW and Warmachine Cryx bone thralls). Skitarii (resin from Micro-art Studios). Mantiple of Conquerer robots, (swopped out one arm for a war droid close combat arm from Pig Iron productions...works well). Ogryn Gun Sevitor, (been posted on here a while back). Missile Servitor & Praetorian from Micro-art Studios (also the CAT from the ew spacehulk boxed game and a FW titan techpriest in the background. Cheers Vyper

Story of our hobby life… Starting new project while there is still enough to do The figures fit together nicely and I really like what you did with the Ogryn.

Maybe the ogryn's muscles could be sharper. Really good conversions.

Not finished yet and yes I'll be cleaning up and reshaping the musclature prior to paint. Re: Ogryn: playing alot of Quake on the 360 at the time hence the very Strogg influenced Ogryn Sevi-tank. The torso is suspended on guitar strings drilled through on old metal rhino cupola/hatch recess. Just waiting for my high elf legs now and thinking or ordering some limbs from Blightwheel before I start my skitarii, otherwise need to work out a way of combining the las guns with the arm, should be easy...have guitar strings, springs and things, will travel.

Quiet week project wise, have a few Cryx odds and sods coming through to be offered to the machine god, also been scouring the net for Ad mech codices. Found a good one at the old darkfortress website, (very good Dark Angel resource I used to frequent a good few years ago). If anyone's interested the links here: http://www.thedarkfortress.co.uk/tech_repo...smechanicus.htmJust waiting on my high elf legs and I can start my skitarii/tech guard. Also had an email from blightwheel as their automated postal charges tried to charge me £20 for three sets of resin limbs, suffice to say I've been offered an alternative much cheaper price that I'll take up. Cheers all Vyper P.S. Just had another garage raid and found another servitor, the big techmarine with the servo-harness, a few more tech marines to convert to techpriests and a load of weapons, backpacks with servo-claws and other useful stuff. It's a good job I'm a horder as this project is having a minimum cash outlay as I've gto so much knocking around; (with the permission of the old store manager I used to raid the bits box at my local GW on a regualr basis and come back with kilos of old lead for nowt! Them's were the days.

Cheers will look later: Just ordered four sets of these from Blightwheel: http://blightwheelminiatures.vendder.com/b...-and-servo-armsBe good for chopping and changing servitors around and for my tech-guard. Also got a Bob Olley Ad mech priest through the post today from a mate over at LAF(cheers mate), and my warmachine Cryx scrapthrall & Necrotech and Cryx The Withershadow Combine turned up from gifts for geeks. Lovely figures in their own right so will make sure I do a good job in converting them. Also. first time I've used Gifts for Geeks, massive range from all the usual big boys and a few little un's too, spot on both with price, free postage and delivery this am, ordered Sat pm. http://giftsforgeeks.org.uk/Cheers

I might as well give up and go home: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=204563 I thought the Hoff's ADmech were fice...these are bloody fantastic!!!! Blightwheel stuff turned up, but only 3 1/2 of the four items ordered, have contacted them so hopefully this will be addressed. Also a couple of sevitors and a techmarine from Aliensurfer, off to the stripping vats for you guys. Just waiting on one cryxlord for my magos and those bloody high elf legs and we're good to go. The challenge with the time I have spare is to get someone ever close to this quality, we'll see. Anyway... had a few hours last night to kill so started to try to mock up the options for Skitarii: (Still waiting on those bloody high elf legs so just used cadian ones for now). Two types: Type one: using Empire flagellant torsos, pig iron heads, cadian arms, (with the shoulder pads removed) and lasguns with some necro tubing, (experiment lasguns that would suit ADMech). Still to GS cowl/hood etc but doesn't look too bad, trying to get the 'look' without serious amounts of time needed to be spent. Type two: cadian body, (waiting on those bloody legs), Pig Iron head, mixture of cadian arms and necron support arm, (forearm and upper arm shortened), Necron weapon shortened with lasgun barrel tip added to the shooty end! Again going for an experiement lasgun look, a little more exotic this time and giving a little void dragon nod in places.Again still to greenstuff the cowl/hood, and will lose the other shoulderpad too. Chopped down vox radiopak on both, probbaly lose the vox speaker too. Will also be added scopes and targetters to both and some cabling etc... Not bad as I said but need to find a way to do this quicker, appreciate these two were prototypes, but 2+ amrs is too long for two partial minis, this should speed up though now I know what I'm going for. Greenstuff and clean up next... oh joy! Vyper
