Yo. As the title stats i'm starting empire soon, and i have some big plans for them.

It will be an army of Middenheim with troops from either Nuln, Reikland, Talabland, and Altdorf for the usage for pistoliers, cannons and my personal fav. the Steam tank. And i'll also add a giant. For the knights it will be knights panther and white wolf. And I will replace my greatswords models with tutogen guard models.

However I have a few ideas for my army i'd like to throw out and see if they are any good. First up to bat is an idea for my flaggelents which is a portable shrine like the one in the new rule book which is being pulled by 1 thousand flaggelents. Next on the chopping block is the question should I add a third order of knights to my force? And maybe some ogre mercs. Last is for my army standard bearer. I'm gonna snag the new box for characters but i'm not a fan of the grim reaper looking standard top. My plan is to change it to a flag with a middenheim design, but i don't know what else to add to it to make it look cool. Any suggestions?

And that about raps it up. I would post a pic. of a warrior preist but i don't know how to shrink my picks for both scan and camera( any help on that please ). So ya that my new army idea in a nut shell.

The portable shrine idea sounds good. How are you planning on converting the flagellants to holding the chains/rope to pull it? On the standard side what's the symbol of Middenheim? Are they the guys with the wolf fixation 'cos you might find an appropriate symbol amoung 40k space wolf plastics?

I'm not an Empire player so I can't comment on the troop choices but it does seem like a bit of overkill to have a giant and ogre mercs as well. Maybe the third unit of knights would be a better choice.

exactly, weekends are nice and slow, especialy in the fantasy area....

are you plannong on doing them right now, or waiting for the next rule book to come out?

Not intirly shure about the shrine yet but it may either be something like a grail reliquier and if pulled more than likely with chains.

As for the symbol of Middenheim its usually a white wolf above a castle(at least thats what the storm of chaos book shows).

Teutogen guatd are the guys in full plate armour with the two handed hammerers and wearing white fur cloks.

As for the mercs. not against the guys I play, and I really think they are cool.

I will be doing some collecting things I know will be in the next edition like a steam tank, knights panther, some state troops, and a wizard.

Speaking of which I'm getting closer to make my shrine. I will be using the war alter with the Valten mini but not shure what else. Any suggestions?

I did it for my Middenhiemers and they looked fantastic. Very fierce.

Ohhh!!! SWEAT. But unfortunatly I live in the U.S. so the shipping and custums( or what ever it is ) is really high and I can't spend that much now. Plus I don't remember how much the us dollar is to the britsh pound.

Ya. I'm propably gonna do what they did in the storm of chaos book which is take Space Wolf transfers and paint the wolf headed transfers white. Luckly at one of the comic shops I got to they have a few sheets of them for sale in there bitz boxes.

They have plenty of good modelling ideas as well but most of the talk is about the New Empire Book (NEB) which is coming out soon.

On the subject of new models it really depends. The new ones are a little bit more expensive and many of us don't like them. It's really up to you. I've started scratch building a new set of artillery for my empire...

If you want a successful empire army you will need quite a bit of infantry so going to a lot of trouble on each miniature might not be such a good idea. My tiny 1,000 point army has about 80 infantry models in it already.

Hm, Very interesting. I really like the custom steam tank part sence i'm scratch building my own and not spending $65 bucks on a metal one. Besides mines a lot lighter.

Speaking of witch on my steam tank I want to give it half tracks, any suggestions on what to use for the tracks.
