Title: Ragnaroks. Again. And Others.
Description: Baran Siege Masters Army
Tinners - January 8, 2012 08:10 PM (GMT)
Hundreds of them.
Well, sold my older army/selling it. And decided to make a smaller army, which translated as, more tanks but of a smaller size, in the end.
Army list is something like this:
Command Tank
Commissar Tank
Squad Command Tank x3
Tank Squadron x 6
Cyclops Demo Vehicles x3
3x Destroyers.
Tho in the last few days that list has changed, from using the Krieg list, to using to IA list instead.
It started out a very russian themed army, but I lost interest in using the valhallans and getting enough decent crew for the tanks. So changed it to a Baran Siege Masters list. Which meant I could use the krieg models for crew.
So yes. Pictures
Started off with some very russiany tanks.

Some cyclops were made:

And krieg bought.

And turrets made.

And some more Hulls

Some new Destroyers made, looking like Stugs. Oh and some more Ragnaroks.

Stowage was added..

And a few more Ragnaroks. Camo netting added.

I bought some plumbing parts to make a few guns but bought the wrong size. So Bombards were started.

As for tracks, I will be making up my OWN master, using no GW parts, and casting it for personal use.

Top notch work, as usual.
All the different stowage makes them much more personalised and of course must help with less riveting surface ;)
So you have sold all that was before these? Any bombards left?
Oh, and have you thought or made artillery tractors at any point?
Cheers,
LvK

The Russ Bombards were the first to go.
Nope, made a few engineering vehicles but thats about it.
LOMAXXDURANG - January 8, 2012 09:35 PM (GMT)
wow how much did it all go for to part with that much work?
Tinners - January 8, 2012 09:52 PM (GMT)
Its not all gone, just a few bits. Still got a pile of my old ragnaroks and stuff.

Hi There!
Wow, lots of tanks! Great work, as usually ;) Love the main shapes of the vehicles, especially the self propelled ones! They're looking absolutely cool :) Keep it up! *topic tracked* ;)

Tinners - January 9, 2012 04:24 PM (GMT)
Got them all riveted up last night, so will begin work on detailing up the turrets tonight.
Tinners - January 9, 2012 09:40 PM (GMT)
May the Emporer have mercy on those that face the Baran 301st. :D

(This doesn't include the Bombards, as I'm still not sure if I'll add them)
Vex - January 9, 2012 11:41 PM (GMT)
Every Army needs Bombards.

Close-ups of the lovely Cyclops would be highly appreciated!
Oh, and if you decide to be better off without the bombards and perhaps sell them, pls get in contact?
Cheers,
LvK

The bombards are purely cannons at the minute, with no real detailing.

Tinners - January 11, 2012 05:39 PM (GMT)
Thanks man.
I forgot to add, also joining this army will be 3 lovely resin Malcador Infernus's once the arrive in the post, for some extra heavy support.
Tinners - January 12, 2012 07:12 PM (GMT)
Reinforcements arrive:

I now have 3 of these.
slovak - January 12, 2012 07:27 PM (GMT)
All right!! Now you're talking!
Beautiful scratchbuilds, and can't wait to see the superheavies built and painted.
Tinners - January 12, 2012 07:44 PM (GMT)
These two will join my other one which is painted, but will be getting repainted:
Tinners - January 13, 2012 10:44 PM (GMT)
Built, camo nets on and ready for paint

I really liked your old Ragnoraks...and this little lot continues the excellent quality of those that you made before. Absolutely excellent builds  .
My only question would be...why bother with the over-priced Forgeworld stuff when you seem to be able to knock tanks together over a lunch time? Let's face it, by the time you have cleaned up the resin, washed them, got the replacement components and straightened out the warped bits, you could have built your own...and they would be equally as good, if not much, much better.
I look forward to seeing your tanks with the tracks on and wish you well on your building :).
Tinners - January 14, 2012 02:13 PM (GMT)
Total build time, including washing, etc was 45 minutes. No warped parts, no bubbles, etc. So no couldn't have made something in that time lol. Also couldnt have made a gun like this, hoses, etc.

As always, I am awestruck.

Russnarok
This isnt stuck together, just curious to see what it'd look like with russ tracks.
The black gun mantle is actually black plasticard rather than a base. Tho the amount of dicking around with it, I wish I had of just used a base. :(

Let me put it in another light, I am Tinners not Tebrey. :)
I mean that with utmost respect for both of your awesome works.
Airborne XO - February 14, 2012 09:01 PM (GMT)
Lovely work dude! But how do you make all that stowage? Did you buy it or cast it yourself?
Cheers, Hal
Tinners - February 14, 2012 09:37 PM (GMT)
The stowage is a mixture of bought, stuff like Tamiya oil drums and jerry cans.
And cast stuff which I made, which are basic wooden boxes I built and cast.
Then covered with very thin greenstuff. I used an entire 36 inch roll of GS just doing the tarpaulins and camo netting.

What is that autocannon made from?
Tinners - May 19, 2012 09:10 PM (GMT)
Thanks guys.
The autocannon is the plastic IG heavy weapon autocannon, with a barrel from a Malcador autocannon I had spare.
MrBigMr - May 19, 2012 11:20 PM (GMT)
Aah, it does indeed have the heat sink. Couldn't make it out clearly, so to me it looked a little like this:

Oh well, thanks anyway.
