Title: Bleached Bone Spray Paintsubstitute
Description: Another option?
SepulchreKnight - November 10, 2011 03:19 PM (GMT)
Is there an alternate spray paint to use that matches GW bleached bone?
I know airbrushing from the paint pot is possible, but I dont have that as an option at the moment. I've teseted various paints from hobby and craft stores, even WalMart and had no luck.
Suggestions?

Okay, so airbrushing you say is out...
Go to a hobby shop that carries stuff for model railroads. See if they carry Floquil Railroad Colors. Floquil comes in small bottles, but they also have a selection of colors available in spray cans.
You might also try high-end art supply stores. There's one here called Jerry's Art-a-rama, and they have a huge spray paint section that carried every freakin color of the rainbow. That product line was expensive, however...somehwere around US$10 for a full sized can.
Another option is to get the cheap-a55 airbrush that uses canned air.
If you do go the airbrush way, don't use GW paints (or any paints for that matter) straight from the pot; they are far too thick and will quickly gum up the airbrush.
And that's my .02 Thrones worth of advice!

Maybe try a Michaels craft store.. I seem to remember at one time them having a big selection of spary paints.. also My wife works for Floral Supply Syndicate and they have many types of spray paints.. I use several of theirs.. their dull or flat is a pretty thick paint but great for vehicles etc.
So maybe try some floral or like said art places?
Good luck and please let us all know what you find out.

most of the spray ivories I have seen are glossy but you could hit it with testors dulcote afterwards.
BUT if you do not mind paying 13 bucks a can Army Painter makes an exact match to blreached bone
Skeleton Bone

praetorian13 is correct.
After over a year, I found a bleached bone proxy (Army Painter Skeleton Bone) in a large spray can that to me, is a 95% match, so I can continue with my Sepulchre Knights SM project, pics coming.
Thanks to everyone for the help.
