Thank you to all the entrants and good luck!

Klaus, not Santa - September 1, 2011 10:20 AM (GMT)
Wow!
Some really nice entries!
This is going to be a tough competition.
Cheers and Good Luck to all that entered.

Is this dragon self sculpted or can I buy this somewhere???

Gran the Slayer - September 1, 2011 10:41 AM (GMT)
Hey look at these fine entries

MaltonNecromancer - September 1, 2011 03:34 PM (GMT)
Took one look at that dragon; I know I ain't winning. :) Bloody amazing stuff.

I really like the Dark Eldar flyer as well; that is some properly impressive plasticard skills on display.

I'd actually say that despite the smaller number of entries, this is probably the highest skill level of work WiP has ever seen in a contest. Great stuff from everyone! :)

GreyDeath - September 1, 2011 11:04 PM (GMT)
OMG...

Seriously I am going to have to sit here and think and check out all these amazing entries for awhile tell I decide.

Wow.. I have to say these are amazing everyone.
Really well done.
Like others have already said these entries all have something awesome.. great conversions, amazing sculpting, amazing plasticard work, great model build up with scratch work done to them and so on..

"...Castle Grautod..."
So is this our very own GreyDeath???

Freakazoid - September 2, 2011 08:05 AM (GMT)
Indeed all are very good work.
Entry 2 reminds a little of "sucker punch"^^

dcrock - September 2, 2011 05:51 PM (GMT)
You all did a real great job on your project

LuckyNo.5 - September 2, 2011 06:15 PM (GMT)
It was a tough choice between entry 2 & 4 but I went with 4 cause it takes great skill to cut sheet styrene like that.

If u take a good look at the pic, u can see it's a scratchbuild!

a lot of good stuff, anyway! it's hard to tell who gonna win!

Thanks!

I find it very bold to enter with a Dragon in a competition here on Work in Progress, where most activity is on 40K, tanks and scratch building - very little WHF and sculpting.
Just my 2 Pennies.

I would like to give some comments, but as a participant it's hard to do so without giving yourself away...oh well

Mechanicore - September 5, 2011 10:30 PM (GMT)
That Dragon is sweet. But I can't wait to learn more about number 5.

lol, i guess no-one was able to guess which entry is yours

(no offense meant...) i really like what people came up with this time. And with an own idea in my head but almost nothing done to it, i have to congratulate everyone who really completed his work. There's so much shiny stuff out there to distract yourself that i admire anyone who's able to complete such tasks in time.

GreyDeath - September 9, 2011 04:11 PM (GMT)
Nope I didn't enter anything.. working but got over my head.. ha ha.. didn't finish it.

But I like that people are doing other stuff as I think WIP can be many different things to many different hobbiest.

I can't wait for people to be able to talk more about their models afterwards and please do post in the project section etc. and tell us more about them.. especially if you have work in progress pics etc.

And ya the dragon is a bit Sucker Punch looking isn't it... sweet.

But also I love to see the plasticard work and conversion work and scratch build work all in the same contest.. that is awesome and makes this so difficult to choose a clear winner.. but nice to drool over everyones entries..

Great work again everyone

Congratulations to Klaus, not Santa for his amazing winning entry!

T.C. - September 21, 2011 01:37 PM (GMT)
Congratulations indeed.

I still chuckle at "the Fiery" :vryhppy:

Gran the Slayer - September 21, 2011 02:24 PM (GMT)
Congratulations Klaus you made a realy great job

Orkstomper09 - September 21, 2011 11:36 PM (GMT)
hows this still summer?
ive been back at school for close to 2 months :(

great contest though, dissapointed i didnt have any time to work on an entry

Klaus, not Santa - September 22, 2011 11:29 AM (GMT)
Thanks guys!
I'm mighty proud to have won against such a superp competition. I mean Gran's Ragnarök is great and with a better image would've scored a lot better, Freddy's Deathstrike is so juicy that I want to build one for the ATHENA, and of course Typhoid Garry's Eldar flyer is just stunning (and got my vote).
Not to mention all the other entries that were great.

Again thanks for the votes!

BTW - T.C. why do chuckle about "the Fiery"...is it wrong? I was wondering how to name him, and this was the closest I could get *blush*

T.C. - September 22, 2011 12:48 PM (GMT)
No no no! In a good way!

It reminds me of a great British children's cartoon from a long time ago called Noggin the Nog where his arch enemy is called 'Nogbad the Bad' and there's another character called 'Olaf the Lofty' and other such things.

I have to confess I might not be appreciating it in the way you intended though; there's something about the adjective "fiery" used in this context (in the same vein as "the Destroyer" or "the Conqueror") that, probably thanks to the 80s, makes it a bit 'cute' which I find ironically amusing when juxtaposed to this badass, evil looking dragon.

I hope this explains, and sorry for the misunderstanding. I'd hate for you to think it was a criticism.
