Still should be a great competition non the less. :D
Dragunov - July 7, 2009 04:24 PM (GMT)
If the space marines don't have in-game choices, then I see no reason not to make something up!
It's your hobby after all!

Ok made a quick change to the rules to make them more "Open"
Any size is allowed.... no scale. That should allow everyone to enter
something so we should see tons of entries now.
;) :vryhppy:

Yep as this is summer time and we all want to take it easy and turn on some A/C and cool down after a hot day outside I think any size is fine.
Just do something, paint it hopefully and enter it.
Even I am working on something... small but hey it is a good excuse for me to even get out my paints and do at least something.
:D

Hurrah!
Now all I have to is bemoan the fact that I'm on holiday for 4 out of how many weeks there are before the finish date.
But I will enter this time and I will actually finish a project for once.
Honest
Sgt.Carmine - July 11, 2009 06:22 PM (GMT)
Can IG Mortars be entered?
GreyDeath - July 12, 2009 12:23 PM (GMT)
This contest is pretty open everyone. That is the point to let everyone create something they want that has to do with Artillery or a heavy choice and this does mean a simple figure up to a large tank/vehicle.
You can do the figure that points the laser on target with camo all on him etc. or the actual vehicle that fires artillery. Seriously it is an open competition.
Can you do a WWII model.. sure. Any company any figure range etc. This is not a GW or 40k only contest. Any models any range.
Please try to get something going and Please try to paint it.
Any entry will be excepted painted or not and it does not have to be a conversion.
You the members do the voting so try to enter something that will receive votes
and your in.
Good luck.
;) :)
doomface81 - July 13, 2009 07:24 AM (GMT)
I'm a bit confused about "heavy choices". Does this mean that the artillery part of this is only really there for flavor? I'm working on some projects that are certainly shooty heavy choices, but not artillery or ordinance per se.
I guess my question is basically this: If I make a model that fills a Heavy Support slot, and shoots a little, can it be entered?
Dragunov - July 13, 2009 07:56 AM (GMT)
hmmm...I think originally, this was about the Artillery specifically, but as we discussed it we wanted it to be more open and attract more entires from everyone, so I guess you're right when you say for the 'flavour'.
As GD, says, '...has to do with Artillery or a heavy choice...' I am willing to say enter your model.
Ultimately, this is all going to you guys to vote on so if you feel you have the winner and it fits in, go for it!

generalmalaise - July 13, 2009 08:26 PM (GMT)
sure - start this competition 2 weeks after i post this

"i coulda been a contenda, Charlie" :vryhppy:
how will i ever top the pink snail of heavy gun death?
Brother Weasel - July 13, 2009 08:44 PM (GMT)
by making somthign i'd vote for?:)
GreyDeath - July 14, 2009 02:55 PM (GMT)
Well we started off as an Artillery contest but some armies don't have any artillery... space marines don't really they have whirlwinds etc. but Warhammer fantasy for some armies? or for some game systems etc... so I think it spirit a Heavy Choice should do.
I think the entire point here is to see some people get some models built and post them for everyone to see is what we are after.
So Summer of Shelling can be open to anything that can rain death down on your opponents. How about that.
;)
Thu'Ook - July 14, 2009 07:56 PM (GMT)
So many choices in the army I want to built! I have one idea but now I'm thinking of another! Must decide quickly! Time is slowly running out! :homer:

Oh great! Now I might have to start an entirely new army! Why? Coz I can't just buy an artillery piece and leave it on its own now can I?
Better start coming up with ideas then. Go go hamster wheel!
