Title: Eldar Jetbike Seer Council
doomface81 - April 29, 2009 01:12 AM (GMT)
Hey guys. I recently decided to add these guys to my mech Eldar, and wanted some input. They're all converted from shining spears models, with different weapons and arms and green stuffed cloaks. These are what I want the most input on. As I got more done, they looked better, but painting and sculpting cloth has always been my weakest point. Anyways!
Farseer (he's all done unless I find a way to make his cloak look better)

Little bit of free hand. I know it's simple, but I'm pretty proud of it.

As you can see he looks pretty decent, but the green cloth looks kinda crappy. Any help here would be MUCH appreciated.
Warlocks

So yeah let me know what you think of them. Any comments or tips would be great!

Sorry to double post. Here's the farseer with all his buddies just for fun.

The front of the bike looks really nice, good job with the freehand.
For the green cloak I would just try darkening it a bit, either with some ink for a quick fix or repainting it again but with slightly darker colours.

models look great and i like the paint jopb, my only suggestion on the warlocks would be perhaps adding one or two differnt helmets for variety? possibly some dire avengers?

Thanks for the comments so far! I'm going to try darkening it down, or at least starting with a darker color and layering up more. Right now it's just green, washed, then green again.
As for the helmets, I thought about using dire avenger parts origionally, but I use dire avenger helms on my Autarchs so I don't want to cause any confusion. Also, I kind of wanted the uniform look so that in the future if I add Guardian jetbikes to my list, I can make an easily recognizable warlock for them. Not to mention the heads come attached to the torso, and I don't have a dremel or anything to remove them. I do plan on painting on different runes on the bikes hoods, to give some variety and also to show what powers the warlocks have.
Thanks again! I'll see what I can do with the cloak and post some new pics. Please keep the comments coming!

I've repainted the Farseers' cloak dark angles green, and will be shading it back up to a lighter green. Here it is so far.

it obviously looks bad right now, but will hopefully both stick out and look good when i get more paint on it. More to come.

For me the Freehand on the Jetbike nose looks realy well to me
Ohnly ting on the Farseers' helmet Ih tink for me the higligting is a bit large. Do you make any corectures on that?

do you mean on the bone colored parts or on the brow of his helmet? If you look at all of my stuff, I do very cartoony highlights with raised edges, so that's probably what's bothering you. It looks better in real life than the photos, trust me.
