It's May 1st, time for hte first achievement, something simple that will help kick off your army...

Build and paint and base, 1 troop (just one mini)

this is a proof of army concept piece, gets your colors and basing laid out so you know what your doing!:)

Do I have to do this Wease? Haha.
Nah, I'll finish the scheme and base.

I have some stuff ready, but... as I have told you,
I do not have axces (sp?) to the pics... :(

do they have to be based? I lost my flock a while ago

yes you have to do it;) should be easy to get 1 mini done in a month yea?:)

go buy some flock then, you have a month... can't be that hard! this is a blog on finishing minis, not having things half done, if we wanted them half done i could keep doing it the way i did:)

I will get that done easy, i'm in the final stages of my lord and 3 destroyers at the moment

Oh Wait......I just realised that a troop choice for me is 4 squads........Better get started then.... Anyone know of a good ink wash tutorial?

this achievment is 1 single trooper out of the troop choise.. (we'll probably do the squad next monnth, so you may want to start early:))

Let me get this straight. All you want is one rank & file trooper? No HQs or anything else? Does it have to be a concept army or could it be in the colors of say the Black Templars?

This is for ONE troop of the Army build for THIS forum.

Meh, still shouldnt be a problem, mis understood what you meant by "troop", i thought you meant anything other than tanks etc.. (not that i care, you just made my job easier :D )

not trying to make it hard... this entire thing is to help get and keep people motivated to doing a single army hopfull yi've set it up to start simple and go from there...

the reason we are startign with 1 single mini, simple, what if you start doing a mini and you don't like the colors? or the base? you can change it up and go from there. My army i have a list and i have some models on sprues, i've maid almost no desisons on it yet, so i need a test mini to see if i'm gonna liek the colors floating in my head.

so it doesn't have to be core/troops choice just one guy on foot?

troop choise. far as i know we dont have anyone doing fantasy, so troop choise, single mini... (obviously the troop choise will probably be a squad, but we just need one single mini)

actually, I'm doing some fantasy, my high elves I'm starting may take me some time to actually get enough money to afford a core choice though. and I'm also going to do my guardsmen and my marines so 3 armies

you might be, but you also arn't part of the build right now.

I didnt say you were trying to make it hard =), just misunderstood what you meant and yes this project is making me get of my lazy butt and do some work :thumbup: which is good, cos it means i might actually finish an army for once (notorius unfinished army guy).

I think you needed to have posted your army list on the Army Build Forum before May 1st. But Wease came up with the idea, so ask him, I don't know.

Anyway, I like idea of this project, because like Alex, I never finish an army. Damn Attention Deficit Dis.......Oh, theres a bunny outside my window.

Its also handy because I'm seeing ideas I might not have necessarily have thought of myself (if I steal anyones ideas, thanks in advance).

I couldn't find where I was supposed to be posting it, but can I get back by posting it today? I already have the lists written up

everyone in the army build shold have a single troop chouse mini (one mini) done by the 1st, you should have it posted here.. (if you dont' have a single mini done yet, i'd like to hear why as if you can't do a single mini in a month, and no i haven't even really started my own!) then you may want to reconsider...

sorry about the lighting...its not the best, but i think it conveys my point. The uniform has black flak armor, with a darkish grey for the cloth. Details will be picked out with shiney metallics, and the higher ranks etc. will get more "valuable" colors like gold. Hope you guys like him :)

test minis

Well . . . I think I am the first in the class to be in trouble. (Some things never change.) I will not be able to post a pic of my May achievement by the deadline.

Why? Well the actual reason is that I waited too long. The fig. is done. I actually stayed up until almost 4:00 last night to get it done and photographed. (I am a SLOW painter.) Today was my deadline because my wife andf I are flying to Canada for a little vacation. We leave at 5:00 am in the morning so it had to be done by today so I could post it.

When I went to download the pics there was no cable for the camera. It seems that either my wife or I, (dependent on who you ask), misplaced said cable when we installed a new computer two weeks ago. I am sure it is there somewhere but I don't have the time today to fix this problem before I leave town.

We don't come home until June 9th so it isn't like I will be just a couple of days late in posting.

I would love to stay on this list so please BW . . . go easy on me.

that's an acceptable excuse in my book:)
