Role Playing Guide
Hey, everyone. lupe_yay.gif This is to guide those who need it, so that they may have longer and more content-based posts.

The Golden Rules:
1. Be literate. No 1337 speak please. (1337 speak = hacker terminology for illiterate speak)
a. Save the vowels and type out your words.
b. Avoid the extra letters, yes?
2. Avoid choppy sentences, ie: WOLF walked. He sat down. He howled. = Absolute crap.
3. Role playing isn’t always about you. There are other people involved. This is where respect comes into terms.
4. Please, if it isn’t your character, do not dictate the actions. This is referred to as god-moding.
5. Your character cannot know what another wolf is thinking. When a wolf is hiding behind a boulder, your character does not know that, unless you role play him/her finding him/her.

Now, onward we go.
Let’s talk about quality.
1. Nice, big artistic words are nice. In fact, the more vivid the description, the better.
2. Avoid redundancy, ie: The trees in the forest were many and big. (Okay, not my best example, but you get the picture, right?)
My point here is that trees is in plural form, yet “many” makes an appearance. Also, we all know that there are many trees in a forest, hmm?
3. Make your character’s actions as clear as can be to avoid misunderstanding.

On to content—
1. Surroundings and environment – This includes the place, time, weather and whatever else is going on around.
2. Feelings – How your character feels in relation to what’s going on.
3. Senses – Your character has senses. Make use of them. What your character sees, smells, hears, tastes and feels will add nicely to your post.

Regarding user-friendliness…
1. Put all character names in bold.
2. Italize thoughts and/or dialogues.
3. OOC (out of character) messages:
When talking to a specific person, make sure it is addressed as so, ie:
@WOLF: PM me please OR WOLF: PM me please

This is just a guide, and you don’t need to follow it. lupe_yay.gif
If you want to add, correct or clarify anything, pm me please. (unendinghowl)

Don't quite get the last part...

I'm not sure about which part of the last part is the part that you don't understand, but I'll just post an example here.

QUOTE

Howl gazed at the vast stretch of land that lay before her. Where are you, Mother? she said out loud. A soft wind started to caress her fur, and the she-wolf could have sworn that she heard someone whisper, I've always been beside you, my dear.
Howl's ears pricked up as she heard another wolf (Eliade) approached her from behind. She wheeled around in surprise; no wonder she hadn't noted of the other wolf's presence until now: the wind was blowing from the north, where she faced, and must have carried her scent into the air.

OOC:
@Eliade: Sorry for the late reply. Something came up in real life.

But due to previewing, I see that whiting out is quite impossible. The idea of this is that the OOC text is the same color as the background. I think I shall cross out that part.
Apologies. >.<

I honestly don't agree with most of that part. I find easier to read consistent stuff. It annoys me when the text is full of bolds, italics, different colors and the like. Italicized thoughts are fine, but dialogue too? Not quite.

Like I said, merely a suggestion. lupe_hurt.gif The idea of "bolding" the names is so that character involved will find their names easier.
