For years, the four wolf packs had lived in their respective territories, experiencing few conflicts between one another. Although it was only recently that a chain of events led to a deep hatred between Fire Pack and Shadow Pack. It started out when a young wolfdog in Fire Pack, (who was practically the pack's omega) fell in love with a she-wolf in Shadow Pack, and not just any wolf, she was Kallah, the Alpha's daughter. Soon after, she too, fell in love with the wolfdog, Fortis.

The two met in secret for several moons, until one day, the Alpha of Shadow Pack, Darkclaw learned of this. In his anger and rage, he and several of his most trusted hunters and fighters went after Kallah when she was heading off to their meeting place. The wolves attacked Kallah, and would have killed her had Fortis not intervened.

That was several moons ago, Kallah survived the attack and was allowed to join Fire Pack, even if most of the wolves disagreed. The Alpha at the time was Alpha Lakas, when he died, he put Fortis in charge of Fire Pack. Now, Fortis and Kallah are Fire Pack's Alpha pair, most wolves have already come to accept them as their leaders.

While in Shadow Pack, ever since that night Darkclaw lost his daughter and most of the pack's respect for him, things had been shaky. If that wasn't enough, an ambitious stranger from the lands beyond the mountains came to the pack. The wolf challenged Darkclaw's authority and this led to a battle between the two wolves, a fight that ended with Darkclaw being in slain. Now, this new wolf leads Shadow Pack and has been preparing them for battle. A battle which would allow them to take over the other packs and slay any who stand in their way... starting with the pack he has heard a lot about from his new packmates... Fire Pack
