Title: Zero Remixes

Extempore - August 12, 2008 02:50 PM (GMT)
These are just some remixes that I created of the Smashing Pumpkins 'Zero', using the multitrack *.moggs from Rock Band (so they suck anyway, seeing as their lossy sourced from a goddamn video game :D)
To be honest, I don't have much experience mixing, and I'm not even sure if these live up to the standards of a decent mix
Both of these were done in under ten minutes, also, as I had places to be and people to see.

I've yet to complete a final mix, however I thought I should share the original mixes before and get opinions before I went on to create the final mix.
So, please tell me if your ears bleed and/or if it's decent or not. :P

Zero (First Mix)

This is just, in basic perspective, a simple mix. The drums are slightly higher volume than the original, and also the guitar is just a tad bit lower, as it drowned out the other instruments. I added a phaser effect on one of Billy's guitar takes, in both the beginning and also on the bridge. I also left in the original backing effects, which aren't present on the album version.

Zero (Second Mix)

This mix is more "alive", shall we say, than the first mix. There's a complete phaser effect on one (or perhaps both, I can't quite remember) of Billy's guitar takes, and it gives a warp-sounding effect overall. The thing I like most about this mix as opposed to the first mix, is D'arcy's bass. It's so low in both my mix, and the album version, so I decided to raise it up by 6%, and now it's more audible. It's such a good take, I think it should get the recignition it deserves :D However, I feel it makes this mix sound kind of distorted, but perhaps that's just me. And finally, mutually with mix 1, this also includes the original backing effects, which aren't present on the album version.

These aren't the best I know, but thanks for any feedback, in advance. :)
